Five days of rain. And it’s still coming.

I went to my office this morning to check on everything and make sure we still had power. Thankfully, we sit up on a hill, so so far we are okay. But all of these pictures were taken within walking distance of my office.

Just northeast of us, areas received 12–15 inches of rain, sending an unbelievable amount of water downstream toward us. And as I’m writing this, we are getting hit with more back-to-back thunderstorms.

The flooding is hard to even comprehend in pictures.

The first photo is normally a play and seating area-today, you can basically only see the top of the awning.

The second is where our farmers market is held, with a stage and gathering area underneath that awning. Needless to say, there was no farmers market this morning.

In the photo with the eagle, there were cars stuck there yesterday. Today, you can’t even see them.

And the last picture is me standing on a bridge where we normally watch people fish, kayak, raft and boat underneath us. Today, the river is nearly touching the bridge.

The White River has now surpassed the historic 1913 flood level. In 1913, the river peaked at 23.8 feet. We have already reached 24.38 feet, before the storms we are currently getting.

It’s one thing to hear the numbers. It’s another to stand there and see places you know completely swallowed by water.

And beyond the unbelievable pictures and historic numbers, the heartbreaking reality is that lives have been lost. Families have been displaced. Homes, businesses and communities have been devastated.

Please pray for Indiana. 🤍

Pray for the families who have lost loved ones.
Pray for those who have been displaced.
Pray for our first responders and everyone working to keep people safe.
And please, pray for the rain to stop. 🙏🏼
