NEIGHBORHOOD SALON FOR KIDS NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Local Resident Launches Unique Hair and Party Place;
Goal to Pamper Parents and Children

Oak Park—Lemonmade Style and Snips for Kids, a neighborhood full-service salon, is open for business and now taking appointments. The entertaining, interactive establishment boasts a fresh atmosphere where parents can relax knowing their children are being taken care of by advanced stylists who understand youngsters and help them enjoy a visit to a stylist. With a big play area, televisions and PlayStations, kids of all sizes will look forward to getting a haircut while parents lounge in a comfortable area, specifically for them. A father of three young children, local owner John Haagenson knew what he wanted to implement in his new salon to help the whole family feel welcome and at ease.

“Since becoming a father nine years ago, I noticed a void in our area for specialty services for my three kids and neighborhood children,” describes Haagenson. “Growing up in the Oak Park-River Forest area, it’s been my dream to open a small business here. Customers will be surrounded by familiar faces and enjoy the experience of Lemonmade.”

Haagenson came up with the name of the shop from a childhood nickname. “Lemon is my childhood nickname from my tow head locks as a young boy—the same look my two young sons now have,” describes John “Lemon” Haagenson. “I wanted to keep the name in the family.”

Lemonmade also has a party room on the premises for birthday celebrations or special events. Girls can transform into a pop princess or boys can be boys in the fun play area. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, September 7 at 11:00 a.m. A ribbon cutting ceremony in conjunction with the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce will include ###, ### and ###.
