Injections, when they are used appropriately, can be a game changer for your horse.

As Kiara gets ready to go back into work, I wanted a full workup done for her. She's been off work for awhile, and is stiff through her hocks with musculoskeletal tension through her shoulders, along her back, and into her hindquarters. She also has had lumbosacral edema. Everything came back great, Colton Ramstrom injected her hocks, and she is starting on zycosan as well for systemic support.

Sports Med workup included:
- Wellness exam
- Bloodwork
- Xrays
- Ovarian ultrasound
- Hock injections
- Zycosan

Check out how much tension has diminished just one week post injections! She's happy, moving around great, and I'm so excited to get her going again.

When injections are used properly, they can immensely improve your horse's comfort.

PS: Take the time to thank your veterinarian, our horses are so lucky to be in their care.

Happy Tuesday!🩷

4 week cycle.
4Β° heel growth.
3rd set.

This is the power of corrective farrier work, vet work, & rehab management from yours trulyπŸ’ͺ Mazikeen grew 4Β° of heel in one hoof cycle on both hinds, which brought her from 51Β° to 55Β°πŸ™ŒπŸ‘ Pictured here is where we started when we integrated a shoe/pad change, and where we currently are as of yesterday.

Dustin Marsh takes care of her farrier needs, Dr. Colton Ramstrom takes care of her veterinary needs (Huge improvement w/ her recent hock injections), Dr. Bess Darrow takes care of her dental needs (Recently pulled 3 more retained caps), & I take care of her management needs (Nutrition, rehab, training, etc.).

Just a few more degrees of heel growth and she will be out of shoes and returned to barefoot!🀩 Thank you to my collaborative team of professionals who have helped me get her to where she is today!🫢

Mazikeen is a complex case study that I'll be making some videos to talk about her history and everything that's been done, so keep an eye out for those!πŸ‘€

A hoof abcess can quickly become an out of control issue and lead to systemic complications. Prompt action is required to mitigate infection and ensure your horse has a good outcome.

This mare had a large abcess rupture along her coronary band, and I'm very pleased with how well she is healing!

Helpful tips for handling an abcess:
- Consult your vet to determine if antibiotics are needed
- Keep the affected area clean and dry
- Utilize the appropriate topicals and light therapy to aid the healing process
- Keep them in a stall for at least a few hours each day during the critical phase of healing

My career as an equine professional began as a horse trainer specializing in c**t starting. From there, I found my way to massage, bodywork, injury recovery, and also working in vet med. Unfortunately, my health conditions required an unplanned change in my path. This change however, has allowed me to explore new avenues that I am very passionate about.

In July of 2025, I completed my B.S. in Kinesiology and am now a Kinesiologist. In March of 2026, I completed my Behaviorist program and am officially an Equine Behaviorist and Management Specialist.

Equine Health and Welfare is near and dear to my heart, and I'm very excited to take my practice in this new direction. My focus now encompasses all aspects of equine health, welfare, and management practices; as well as continuing with my injury recovery cases.

I specialize in the complex and chronic, when you're at your wits end and you just don't know what to do to help your horse. That's where I come in to help problem-solve.

I’m currently recovering from surgery and eagerly look forward to getting back to work, helping horses and their owners across Central Florida. There will also be a few virtual options for those in other states.

Wishing you and your horses a happy Monday!🫢

This service is one that has been asked of me for quite some time, so coming this year... it's officially happening!πŸ€—

I will be offering coaching sessions for equine massage/bodywork professionals! If you are a certified professional and are wanting to strengthen your knowledge base, I am the person who can help you do that πŸ™Œ

First and foremost: You do need to already be certified as an equine massage therapist and/or equine bodyworker in order to partake in this service. I am not teaching massage & bodywork techniques rather, I can help you learn the additional information that is vital to know when working on horses. With that being said, if you are having a hard time determining how much pressure you need to apply for a technique, that I can help you with. For example, if you think you need to adjust your pressure while performing effleurage, I can evaluate your technique and guide you to an improved state. But if you are wanting to learn how to perform effleurage for the first time, that will need to be first learned in a certification program.

These sessions are 1:1 where you can come to me with the area you are struggling in, and I will help you problem-solve your way to a strengthened foundation.

*This service, as with all I am posting, will be avaliable when my books open back up*

The goal is to help other equine bodyworkers & massage therapists feel confident in being able to put your best foot forward in serving your equine clients 🫢

Happy New Year & Happy 10 years since I began my journey in the equine wellness industryπŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

These slides contain a first look at what is coming with me into the new year!🫢

Fun fact: No matter how good a particular tool is, it must be used in the hands of a qualified professional in order for your horse to receive the proper benefits.

Using high-quality therapeutic tools ensures safety, effectiveness, and consistent results. When these modalities are applied by a trained professional, they are used at the correct settings, durations, and protocols; maximizing benefits while minimizing risk.

I can help you determine which wellness modalities are best suited for your horse, as well as which modalities are NOT right for them. The latter aspect is a key insight that is often overlooked, as ALL wellness modalities have precautions, contraindications, and guidelines for proper usage.

When your horse comes to me, you can rest assured that they are receiving gold-standard care, delivered through the device itself and the expert hands guiding it.

*My books are currently closed but will be opening back up to new clients later this spring*πŸ’•

πŸ’«A New Chapter

2026 will make 10 years since I began my career as an equine massage therapist. After 10 vears of hands-on equine massage, my journey is shifting.

After a lot of reflection, I've made the difficult decision to retire from the hands-on side of equine massage. As most of you know, I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and many comorbidities. My bodv has reached the point where continuing the physical demands of massage is no longer sustainable, so I'll be stepping back from that part of my practice.

This choice wasn't easy. Providing massage for your horses has brought me immense joy, and I’m incredibly grateful for every partnership and collaboration that has involved me as part of their care team. This decision ensures I can prioritize my long-term health, while still remaining involved with the horses and clients I care deeply about. I'm thankful for everyone who has trusted me with their horses, and I'll still be here to support you in new ways.

While I won't be offering hands-on massage anymore; I'm not disappearing, my practice is evolving. I'II continue to support the equestrian community in ways my body can handle and be an ongoing resource wherever possible.

Thank you for your understanding and support moving forward into this next chapter as Transformative Equine evolves. This is not the end! It is simply the start of a new beginningπŸ’«
