We are excited to introduce our 2026 foal crop so far.

Our small but mighty team kicked off the 2026 show season with a fantastic weekend at Fieldstone Park!☘️
It was the debut show for our 2023 Section B stallion, Rollingwoods Top Shelf, and he exceeded every expectation. “Elf” was a complete gentleman all weekend, handling large undersaddle classes! He topped the weekend off by earning Supreme Champion under both judges.
Elf’s half-brother, Rollingwoods Top Tier, was just as impressive. “Diesel” laid down beautiful rounds in the A/B Hunter and earned Supreme Champion Gelding under one judge and Reserve Supreme Champion Gelding under the other.
Anna Hutchinson and her Cuesta Chipotle spent the winter working hard and it definitely paid off! The pair earned Reserve Champion in Adult Half-Welsh English Pleasure and had awesome Low Hunter rounds.
Additionally, Lisa Seaburg’s Rollingwoods First Class moved up to Low Hunter and had a great first show back.
Rollingwoods Guardian Angel gained valuable experience in his first undersaddle classes.
These three are showing much promise and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
A huge thank you to Candice Reece, Charlotte Upchurch, Kathy Voekel, Sarah Wright, and the entire Diamond K/Royal Oaks/Fieldstone Park team for yet another wonderful show and the perfect start to the season!

Some ponies and some people leave a legacy that continues long after they are gone and that is true of Gail Thomson of Gayfields Welsh in so many ways.
We are proud to celebrate Gayfields Louisiana Man LOM, whose offspring earned him his Sire LOM in 2025. Louisiana Man was bred by our late friend Gail Thomson, who played an instrumental role in helping us start our breeding program at Rollingwoods Farm. Gail was truly one of a kind, and we miss her greatly.
While we do not own Louisiana Man, he has been a part of our breeding program thanks to the generosity of Gail and Arthur.
Included below are the pictures and the write up that were shared at the awards banquet recognizing Gayfields Louisiana Man for earning his Sire LOM.
Gayfields Louisiana Man LOM
“The legacy of Gail Thompson, a cornerstone of the WPCSA and an expert on Welsh bloodlines, lives on through the ponies she produced. Gail’s
knowledge was vast, her dedication was unwavering, and in her husband's
words, she was "an event".
Gayfields Louisiana Man stands as a tribute to that legacy. Though he was
never shown, his impact is evident in his offspring. Owned by Gayfields, he
has also contributed to the Rollingwoods Farm program thanks to the
generosity of Gail and Arthur. Together, Rollingwoods Farm and Arthur
proudly recognize Gayfields Louisiana Man for achieving his Sire LOM.
Gayfields Chicks Dig It, owned and adored by Kelsey Bryant, has proven
himself a versatile and competitive partner, excelling in Hunter, Halter,
English Pleasure, and numerous Western classes.
Rollingwoods The Cat’s Meow, aka "Guppies", was a sweet mare with an
unforgettable personality. Paired with Mason Davis, she either performed to
win or to teach a humbling lesson.
Rollingwoods Bellini, owned by Claire Rasmussen, has excelled in both
Welsh and Open Driving Competition, including earning top ribbons at Villa
Louis Carriage Show.
Rollingwoods Show of Hands gave Joanna the confidence to ride and show
again. She has since taken care of riders at Kelvedin Farm. A true babysitter,
Chicken Fingers has earned many National Awards with both her rusty rider
and her beginner riders.
Rollingwoods Hot Topic has always been unflappable and wiling to please,
even as a green pony. In the two years she was shown by Alex Clark, she
earned National titles in English Pleasure, Western, and Hunter. She is now expecting a March 2026 foal.
Louisiana Man and his offspring are Gail’s vision and knowledge brought to
life. Although she is missed, Gail's influence endures in her bloodlines and in
all of us who were fortunate enough to learn from her.”

Next Up: We will be highlighting each of our Lifetime Award winners!🎉

While it’s wonderful to have a widely successful pony like Cookie
Thief, sometimes ponies give an even greater gift: lasting friendships.
That is exactly what Cookie Thief’s five AOH legs have given us.
The first leg, Divinity, marked the first breeding to one of our ponies for
longtime friend Bonnie Smith. We are grateful for her continued support
and promotion of our bloodlines.
The next leg, Rollingwoods Eye Spy AOH brought us the friendship of
Grace Morgan and everyone at Kasbah Farm. Grace successfully
campaigned “Hiccup” on both the Welsh and Hunter circuits, including
attending Pony Finals 2019. The best part of this sale was the addition to
our family that came with it. Since purchasing Hiccup, Grace has
attended our Annual Pony Breaking every year for the past ten years and
frequently appears at the farm throughout the year.
As most of you well know, Grace and Alex come as a package deal. So
it’s fitting that the next pony, Rollingwoods Angel Cookies, is the pony
who pulled Alex into our barn full-time (spoiler alert: we haven’t been
able to get her out since). Yummy was later sold to Kathy Voelkel. We
are grateful that another of our ponies has kept that friendship close.
With the sale of Rollingwoods Doo Lolly came the friendship of Lauren
Smith and her mother, Leah. Lauren campaigned Lolly in the Welsh and
Hunter world, even ribboning at Pony Finals 2023.
The final leg, R & R Cookies Angel “Matilda,” is the result of a
longtime friendship with the Roberts family. Reconnecting through
breeding and campaigning Matilda in 2025 has been a wonderful
reminder of how special these pony connections can be.
The greatest gift these ponies brought us was not success alone, but the
people who became friends and even family because of them.

We had such a great time at the WPCSA AGM this year. It is always so special to get together with our Welsh pony family and catch up with friends we do not see nearly enough during our busy show season. There is something about this group of people that just feels like home. And we have to say, it was pretty fun seeing everyone dressed up for the evening too. We are used to dirt and barn clothes, so it is nice to see everyone all cleaned up.
We also must extend a huge thank you to Dr. Shari Beecher, Lisa Landis, Ozzy Picton, and Louise Picton for all the work they put into making the AGM such a success. Events like this do not just happen. They take a lot of time and effort, and we greatly appreciate the people who work behind the scenes to make these things happen.
It was wonderful to get to celebrate the 2025 Show Season and the success that came with it. We are so proud of what our riders and ponies accomplished and it is wonderful to get to recognize all the growth, hard work, and teamwork that went into it.
We are already looking forward to getting back in the ring in 2026. We are leaving the AGM excited, motivated, and ready to do it all again.
Stay tuned for official results from 2025.
It has been a beautiful and very unusual time here in Mississippi with this snow!❄️
This has not been the easiest weather to manage, but the farm definitely looks peaceful covered in snow and the ponies have certainly enjoyed it.
We were fortunate to avoid the devastating ice that affected some of our neighbors and are grateful to have had water and electricity to keep the farm running. The snow has been pretty, even if we are ready for it to move along.
To our northern friends, you are welcome to take your winter weather back anytime.😉

We are gearing up for foaling season here at Rollingwoods Farm, with our first foal expected the last week of February!
The 2026 crop is especially exciting for us, as we are welcoming foals from three first-time moms and celebrating the first foal crop of our junior stallion, Rollingwoods Top Shelf. Two of these mares are younger than our typical broodmares and have been excelling in the show ring until quite recently, making this extra exciting.
We can’t wait to meet these babies and share this exciting season with you as it unfolds!
Another year, another successful Pony Breaking Weekend!
We were absolutely thrilled to welcome so many new faces to the farm and share this special weekend with such a great group of visitors. We also loved having our regular attendees from far and wide back at the farm for the weekend. Everyone had a blast experiencing Pony Breaking up close and hands on. Sally Ross and Joanna worked ponies in the round pen while kids rode, played, and audited throughout the day. From kicking the ball in a big circle to introducing pool noodles, the interactive activities were a crowd favorite, and our young ponies handled the excitement like champs. We were incredibly pleased with how all of the yearlings and two year olds rose to the occasion amid the controlled chaos of the weekend. Over the course of the event, we started five three year olds. We could not be more excited to watch their training journeys continue. Keep an eye out to see who joins our show string this year. We are just getting started.
