Light Blossoms

Since we live in a way that is increasingly disconnected from the Earth, and from our bodies, some of the clearest communication between these systems becomes fragmented. These systems (body, earth, elements) evolved together, woven up in each other, inextricable. Our ancestors drank from the spring, which delivered not only much needed hydration and minerals, but also an energetic communication of what the water had learned or imprinted from the depths of the Earth. And this information is imperative to my energy body’s understanding of how to be stable, secure, omnipresent, star-seeeded.

Grounded Embodiment flower essence was created to enhance our capacity to be here, in reciprocal connected relationship with the Earth. This is weirdly, amazingly hard to do! I’ve included the Rosemary flower essence in this formula for those of us who tend toward dissociation and numbness.

The last few flower essences I’ve outlined from the Grounded Embodiment formula have a quality of bridging between our nitty gritty humanness and our vast multi-dimension spiritness. This particular dynamic is an ongoing aspect of being a person on the planet.

One would think that being embodied or inhabiting one’s body fully is something that is given or just happens. However, remarkably few people live fully inside of themselves. For one thing, it is a lot for a soul to inhabit a body.

When my oldest daughter was a tiny baby after we had fed, changed, rocked and walked her, and she still cried, I held her face up to mine and said “It is so hard to be such a vast soul and to fit into this tiny form” she stopped crying instantly and looked visibly relieved to be understood.

We are so much and the body is so limited. A fundamental element of living in the body is coming to peace with the irreconcilable nature of our infinite spirit and the limitations of physicality.

Shooting Star flower essence is perfect for the Grounded Embodiment formula because it addresses a fundamental experience of being human, which is this recognition that I am somehow a vast spiritual being trying to sort out how to make that work on this big weird painful planet, in this sensitive limited human body. I’m teaching a six-week in-person series starting March 31 in Olympia. Taking Root: Embodiment, Ritual & Belonging. Each session weaves together teaching about the root, somatic practice, art-making, and ritual. Each person will receive a bottle of Grounded Embodiment to work with during the series.
