One thing I learned at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts is that we must first work on ourselves before we can work on others. 🧎🏾‍♀️

We must first process our emotions and experiences before we share or speak on it.🫧

I had to sit within this transformative space the Universe put me in. 🐛 I wanted to jump headfirst into sharing & healing.

But transforming from who you once were is grueling work. 😮‍💨 Your whole entire reality must first deconstruct and it’s rebuilt from the inside-out. ✨

Every time I felt like I had a grip on reality, it slipped and I felt as if I was losing my mind & control. 😵‍💫

But as I approach my 30th solar return ☀️… I sit in immense gratitude.

I spent my 20s learning & trying many different things looking for my place in society. 👩🏽‍💼💼💰 I did all the things — college, cosmetology degree, office jobs, 3 insurance licenses, became a mother, got engaged, tried to become a career woman and make my family proud….

At 29, I finally acknowledged I want no place in it. ❌

The life I envision for myself I have never met anybody else who lived it. So I have to do something I’ve never seen done before to create this new reality for Self 👁️

At 30 — Eye Am Becoming. 👑🌏✨

Ushering in a renewed energy and sense of sovereignty over my physical identity. No longer keeping myself prisoner to societal standards & expectations ⛓️‍💥

No longer just dreaming it in my mind or helping others make their dreams come true… 🌟 but becoming the person those people need to see to be inspired, motivated, & enlightened themselves through experiencing my light & truth 🌟

✨ Self-expression is an act of alignment.

The more you heal, the less you feel the need to perform, shrink, explain, or shape-shift just to be accepted.

You start wearing what feels like YOU.
Speaking what feels true.
Creating without needing permission.
Showing up without constantly wondering how you’re being perceived.

Authenticity is allowing the person you are on the inside to finally have room to exist on the outside. 🌟

There is so much freedom in becoming comfortable with being fully seen.

Express yourself. Honor yourself. Be yourself. 💫 🤸🏾‍♀️

This summer, I made a promise to myself: No weave. Just me. 🌿✨

Choosing to wear my natural hair has been more than a style decision. It’s been a practice in self-acceptance, patience, and honoring the crown I was given. Slowing down, caring for my own hair, and showing up as I am has helped me feel more grounded and connected to myself.

For me, healthy hair care is also a form of self-care. Taking the time to cleanse, moisturize, and nurture my hair reminds me that growth happens through consistency, not shortcuts.

Today’s natural style was brought together with:

✨ Mousse

They gave my curls the moisture, definition, and hold I was looking for without weighing my hair down.

I’m enjoying this season of embracing my natural beauty, learning my hair on a deeper level, and letting my crown breathe. 💆🏽‍♀️💫
