1 year, and 6 appointments later. We have reached her blonde goals! š itās such a soft, dreamy blonde. From here weāll be maintaining until sheās ready for something new.
Her hair was previously lightened and then colored over which means we had to be super gentle while lifting out the color. That means taking our time, trusting the process, and enjoying the journey. šŖ“

Thereās no such thing as a dumb question. Thatās how we learn!
I like to hand paint her highlights. Her hair is naturally really light so it lightens fast and doesnāt need the heat from foils to get her where she wants to be. Itās perfect for that lived-in, sun-kissed vibe. š

Iām still here! Iāve taken a step back from posting for a long while and honestly have enjoyed it. But hereās a super fun transformation from this morning. She was ready for a more dimensional blonde and a fresh, fun cut for spring/summer!

Nobody said you HAVE to go darker in the fall. A bright dimensional blonde is never out of style. š

You arenāt āmeanā for setting boundaries or ācomplicatedā or āimpossibleā. Setting boundaries means taking care of yourself.

I needed to free up some space and was going through deleting old photos and found these gems! Soft tones, low maintenance grow out, dimensional. I donāt think these looks will ever truly go out of style. Any of these catching your eye? Bring it to your next appointment and let me recreate it for you!
Sheās been on a journey embracing her natural color over the last year. Previously she was a client who would say āI want to be as blonde as possible today.ā But she was looking for lower maintenance and to heal her hair from years of over processing. Her hair is now in a completely new state, healthy, and ready for whatever look she chooses next.
Sometimes we just need a fresh start and thatās ok! š

5 struggles you might have with FINE hair and how to overcome them:
1. Lack of volume + Body.
- Use lightweight sprays when styling. Not heavy creams or oils.
- blow dry using a round brush, lifting up and over in the opposite direction the hair lays to lock in volume as your hair dries.
2. Oiliness + Limp roots
- shampoo every 1-2 days using a gentle, lightweight shampoo. Avoid heavy moisture formulas.
- Apply conditioner to the mids-ends of your hair only. (Yes, you need to use conditioner.)
3. Breakage + Fragility
- always use heat protection. Lower your iron temp to 300-325 max.
- limit tight ponytails or harsh elastics. Scrunchies and clips are your friend.
4. Difficulty holding a style.
- prep with a lightweight styling spray on damp hair before blow drying.
- curl smaller sections and allow them to cool completely before you touch them.
5. Ends appear see through or sparse.
- opt for a blunt cut, or softly textured long layers to maintain fullness
- dimensional color incorporating lowlights, shadow roots, or root melts can create a visually thicker appearance.
Save this post so you can come back and let me know if you try any of these tips and whether or not they work for you!

A lot of people are embracing their natural color right now. You donāt have to just wait and cut it off. Let your stylist pop in some lowlights that are as close as possible to your natural hair color for a really pretty dimensional color thatās perfect for fall!
I take my time placing and folding foils. Iām able to because Iām intentional about where I put them. I know exactly where they need to be for max coverage, better blends, and less risk for damage. šŖ“ plus they look nice and neat when Iām finished.
