Many of the chemicals that migrate from plastic are endocrine disruptors. Here's a list of some of the conditions that can be onset or worsened by endocrine disruptors and how they've changed since the onset of widespread use of plastic packaging:
* PCOS: +28% age-standardized prevalence (global, 1990–2021)
* Autism: +381% identified prevalence (6.7 → 32.2 per 1,000, U.S. surveillance, 2000–2022)
* S***m concentration: −52% (not an increase; Western populations, 1973–2011)
* Total s***m count: −59% (Western populations, 1973–2011)
* Earlier female puberty: age at breast development decreased ~3 months per decade (1977–2013), rather than being expressed as a prevalence percentage.

How EDCs (endocrine disruptors) can influence prevalence of these conditions:

* Hormone disruption
* Thyroid disruption
* Sex-hormone signaling:
* Placental effects: Some EDCs can alter placental function, potentially changing the nutrients, hormones and signaling molecules reaching the fetus.
* Oxidative stress and inflammation
* Epigenetic changes: EDCs can potentially alter gene expression without changing the DNA sequence, theoretically affecting developmental pathways.
* Neuronal development

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals that can migrate from plastic packaging:

* Bisphenol A (BPA)
* Bisphenol S (BPS)
* Bisphenol F (BPF)
* DEHP (di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate)
* DBP (dibutyl phthalate)
* BBP (benzyl butyl phthalate)
* DINP (diisononyl phthalate)
* DIDP (diisodecyl phthalate)
* DiBP (diisobutyl phthalate)
* DEHA / bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate
* Nonylphenol
* Octylphenols
* Certain PFAS — particularly from grease/water-resistant food-contact materials

so what do you think is worse? Ingredients or packaging?

Tell me not to do it. 🙈

Before now I was progressively trimming off the hair from when I went fully blonde 2 years ago, but now it's basically gone so I am going to just let it grow (I hope?).

I am taking Fight Hair Loss From Within 💪 daily to support faster growth and keep my hair from getting sparse in the length.

How often should I update?

Someday I won't be able to influence what he eats, drinks, wears, uses on his hair and skin, or his environment.

I can only hope he will use the knowledge I give him to make safe choices, but why should he have to?

No one should have to investigate ingredient lists, clothing tags, and packaging safety. There shouldn't be apps to navigate to safer products. It's insanity!

WE ARE NATURE - but our bodies have been contaminated by so much INDUSTRIAL poison that we grow cancer, develop allergies and autoimmune conditions, can't reproduce as nature intended, our genes are mutated before birth so some of us don't even stand a chance, and even those who survive all that can't seem to get a grip on health no matter how hard they try.

So I will continue to disrupt this unnatural course. I will shine a light when I see an example of the harm lack of regulation around ingredients and packaging made of industrial poison is causing. I will continue to make people uncomfortable and scared and hopefully mad - because our lives depend on the majority waking up and demanding better.

Maybe you're wondering - why are some people having issues while using Innersense and not others?

To that I would say that chemicals migrating (leaching) from packaging is not something that would happen uniformly from one product to the next.

I choose not to roll the dice when it comes to plastics and so I choose and recommend glass or package-free options. If I have to use plastic, I avoid recycled plastic above all for the reasons described in this video.

I believe that even a formula that isn't clean but was made with the intention of being a personal care product doesn't contain chemicals as potentially harmful as those that can leach from plastic. That is why I think even a brand with a clean formula can accidentally cause more harm than a brand that doesn't even try to be clean if the brand with the clean formula isn't careful enough about their packaging choices.

I am saying maybe Innersense (and maybe DevaCurl back then too) got a bad batch of recycled plastic.

I love you.

Only someone who understands the problem could help her.

I wish they didn't need this kind of help - the kind that requires a whole education on the contamination risk that unregulated use of recycling plastic packaging for cosmetics poses - even for brands that use clean formulas like Innersense. Not just how it affects their hair, but their health and especially their hormones.

If this is you - leave a comment and I will send you a message (DMs do not always come through). I will help you on your journey back to the you that you remember. ❤️🙏
