This one’s for the pregnant service providers 💗 as a lash tech of over 5 years, this is my 2nd maternity leave Ive planned and prepared for as a solo lash artist - this time around I’ve changed a few things to prioritize myself AND my business so maternity leave can be as smooth as possible.

✨prioritizing myself meant cutting back my schedule during my 1st trimester (it was ROUGH but clients were so understanding) to work 3 days a week instead of 5 days. This was my way of showing up for myself rather than showing up for everyone else like us service providers tend to do 💗

✨ after 1st trimester nausea became easier to deal with, I prioritized a plan for maternity leave because I knew I’d have to schedule the time off for what we could afford, luckily we met our goal to save for 6 weeks of leave which means tracking bills, expenses & creating a budget

✨ comfort is keyyyyy- so here’s a rare occasion of me looking cute during this pregnancy 😂 most days were sweatpants and big tshirts!

✨I prepared clients with what dates I’d be on leave as soon as I knew what my cutoff date was for taking appointments & lash tech options in the salon so they could keep up with fills while I’m gone or decide to take a break.

✨planning leave meant planning my return - I’ll be back September 22nd and had many loyals prebook their first appointment back with me if they knew their schedule could allow booking out so far in advance.

Solo entrepreneurs (especially in Florida) don’t always have the benefits of paid maternity leave so this was my way of planning ahead after experiencing my first maternity leave - prioritizing business comes hand in hand with prioritizing family time , so hugeeeee THANK YOU to all of my clients and students who make it possible for me and my family to enjoy this special time in our lives welcoming our sweet baby girl 💕
