Ever feel like you’re sliding forward during a massage, so you end up choosing the position that secretly pinches your neck? Let’s fix that. 🤫👇
When we adjust the face rest, a lot of clients end up opting for a position that actually jams the back of their cervical spine because it feels “stabler.” But it’s sabotaging your relaxation!
Here’s the breakdown of what you’re seeing on screen:
🚨 Position 1 (The Pinch): The face rest is too flat or high. It feels stable, but it compresses the back of your neck the entire hour.
😐 Position 2 (The Neutral): Safe, flat, and baseline—but maybe not giving you that deep release you need.
✅ Position 3 (The Sweet Spot): A slight downward angle. Yes, it can make you feel like you’re leaning forward at first! But once your body settles, this angle beautifully opens up the back of the neck and decompresses the spine.
The Fix:
Next time you’re on the table, let’s find that sweet spot. If you feel like you’re sliding, tell me! We can adjust your body position so you get the benefits of an open neck without the feeling of falling forward.
💬 Which position do you usually end up in? Let me know in the comments!
Sometimes ‘self-care’ looks like clearing the visual noise so you can finally hear yourself think.
But the biggest takeaway? The absolute solitude gave me the quiet I needed to finally look at my own patterns. I realized exactly why I’ve been feeling so chronically overwhelmed, and I realized I can’t build a business or show up for others if my own physical foundation is shaky.
So, I’m practicing what I preach. Step one of fixing the overwhelm means ruling out the physical. This weekend, I signed up to get my nutrition, habits, and hormones back on track with FASTer Way to Fat Loss.
As service providers and entrepreneurs, we are excellent at taking care of everyone else. But sometimes, the ultimate CEO move is taking a hard look at your own dashboard, clearing the clutter, and doing the unsexy maintenance work required to level up.
What’s one thing you’ve been letting slide through the cracks that your “future self” needs you to handle this week? 👇
I had 5 days completely alone for the first time in years. I didn’t escape to a vacation—I chose to do the maintenance work.
When I finally got the house to myself for five days straight—a literal lifetime in mom-years—everyone assumed I’d be off the grid at a resort, getting a daily massage, or socializing every night.
But as a business owner and a mom, I realized what I actually needed wasn’t an escape. I needed to clear the backlog. I needed to invest in my future self by removing the friction in my everyday life.
For me, that meant tackling the “visual noise” of a messy house that’s been subtly draining my battery for months. It meant making progress on an online course, seeing a few clients, reading, and getting back to moving my body with intention.
Pretty sure Brox deserves his own 200-hour certification at this point. 🐾🐶
Six years ago, during the peak of COVID, I started my YTT. A cross-country move, a whole baby, and a new business later, I finally crossed the finish line! It took time and perseverance (and a very patient dog), but this deep dive into self-study was worth every single year it took. Cheers to finishing what we start, even if life takes us the scenic route! 🛣️❤️
The art of the pre-session setup. ☁️✨ Behind every great therapeutic massage is a hidden checklist to ensure your experience is seamless, comfortable, and exceptionally clean.
Before you even step into the room, two major things are happening:
📏 Custom Ergonomics: I adjust the table height specifically for the modalities we’ll be using. A proper table height allows me to use my body weight effectively, delivering deeper, more consistent pressure where your muscles need it most.
🛡️ Hospital-Grade Hygiene: Comfort shouldn’t compromise safety. Beneath those crisp, fresh sheets sits a specialized protective medical barrier over the fleece pad and vinyl. This ensures that every single layer you near is completely protected and perfectly sanitized between every single client.
An integrative massage means combining deep tissue, myofascial release, and Swedish techniques tailored just for you—and the care starts before you even lie down.

POV: Giving pregnant clients the one thing they’ve been craving for months… total pressure relief. 🕊️✨
Let’s talk about a major pregnancy myth: that you can ONLY get massaged while lying on your side. While side-lying is amazing, it’s not your only option! Here is what you need to know about pregnancy massage safety and positioning:
🤰 Face-Down (Prone) Massage
Can you safely lie on your stomach? YES—if your therapist uses a specialized, professional maternity bolster system like this one! Standard tables or cheap belly pillows with holes can cause the abdomen to dangle, which strains your uterine ligaments. A high-quality, orthopedic bolster completely supports your hips, breasts, and belly, taking all the pressure off your lower back. It is safe through the 2nd and even 3rd trimesters, provided you are in a low-risk pregnancy and feel comfortable!
🤰 Face-Up (Supine) Massage
After about 16–20 weeks, lying completely flat on your back is a no-go. The weight of the growing uterus can compress a major blood vessel (the inferior vena cava), which can drop your blood pressure and make you feel dizzy. However, face-up massage is completely safe when we use a specialized wedge pillow to keep your upper body elevated at a semi-reclined angle!
Every body and every pregnancy is different. That’s why we customize every single session to make sure you and baby are safe, supported, and completely relaxed.

Packed up some homemade elderberry syrup and my massage table for one final, deeply deserved prenatal session for a dear friend expecting her second.
Knowing what it feels like to navigate early motherhood unsupported made me promise myself I’d never let the moms in my circle feel that way. Being chosen to hold space for her during this sacred window is an honor I don’t take lightly.
✨ To anyone out there building their own village from scratch: you are doing a beautiful job. And to the mamas-to-be: let yourself be held.
Stopped by Surprise & Shine to check on my shelf and found that someone went Hulk-mode on the last bottle of perineal spray—ripping the lid right off, despite the shrink wrap.
I know it’s tempting to get a sniff of everything, but here is a quick behind-the-scenes reality: once a product is tampered with, I can’t sell it. Because it’s an intimate care product, safety and hygiene are a top priority.
R.I.P. to the profit on this bottle, but congratulations to it on its retirement🫡
Next time you want to try a product, look for the designated tester. If there isn’t one, don’t open the retail product! Let’s keep the shelves safe (and fully clothed) for everyone. 🧴✨
