Deepen your practice with private yoga 📣
Recently, one of our members said ‘I’ve learned more in two months of private instruction than I have in two years of group classes.’
As a longtime practitioner and teacher, that did not surprise me.
Not at all. 🤗
The group classes at Maha are taught by expert instructors. Every teacher at Maha is highly trained, and I personally stand behind our teaching staff and our group classes wholeheartedly.
In our group classes, we aim to give the most relevant information to keep you safe and to help you progress in your practice.
But group classes can never offer what private instruction does: nuanced, individualized attention that specifically addresses exactly what your body needs.
While group classes will include mindful cues that serve the vast majority of practitioners, sometimes you need something more. ✨
This is where private lessons come in.
In your privates, our teaching staff will support you in learning to modify your practice due to injury; they can give you the tools to finally sort out crow pose after years of practice; you can learn how to construct a home practice customized to your wellness goals.
While our group classes offer options for all, there is truly nothing like working one on one with a teacher you trust. ➡️ Each yogi is walking their own unique path, and having your teacher walk beside you will help you deepen your practice in ways you never knew possible.
Our private intro pass includes 30 days unlimited group classes and one private lesson. That's our best deal on a single private session, exclusively for those new to the studio!
If you’re already a member and interested in booking a single session or upgrading your membership to include privates, message or email and we'll hook you up! 💫

You're NOT too old for Yoga Teacher Training 📣
➡️ When you hear the term 'yoga teacher,' what comes to mind? 💭
Is it someone young, thin, maybe in her 20s, with no kids and a ton of energy?
I think that's the prevailing stereotype, but the truth is yoga teachers come in all ages, shapes and sizes! 🤗
If you think yoga teacher training is only for young, unmarried women, I've got news for you!
Middle aged yogis make excellent teachers, and every time we offer Teacher Training at Maha, I delight in the age diversity that comes together. 💫
But stereotypes persist!
I know this because the first two calls I've had to answer questions about this program were from yogis in their 50s who think they might be 'too old for Teacher Training.
Let me be clear: you are NOT ❌ too old, and we LOVE training teachers in their 50s, 60s and beyond. ✨

Avery now teaching Maha Mobility 📣
We’re excited to introuduce Avery (they/them) who teaches Maha Mobility on Tuesday evenings and Maha Flow Monday evenings.
Many of you may already know Avery as a familiar face around the studio. After more than a decade of practicing at yoga studios across the country, Avery found a home at Maha in 2021—first as a student, and now as a teacher after completing their 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2025. ✨
Avery brings a thoughtful, grounded approach to movement shaped by a lifetime of varied physical experiences. Growing up alongside a physically-disabled single mother while training in strict ballet classes gave them an early understanding that every body moves differently—and deserves individualized care and attention.
Their classes focus on fine-tuning movement, building awareness, and helping students develop strength and resilience through a mobility-informed lens. 💪🏼 Expect a practice that feels intentional, intelligent, and deeply human.
If you haven't already, check out class with Avery! 💫

Teacher training is for you if you’re ready to build a career you LOVE 😍
Maha's Teacher Training is intentionally designed for dedicated yogis ready to deepen their practice and share the profound benefits of yoga with authenticity. What do we mean when we say, 'authenticity'?
➡️ Well, we won't tell you to manifest abundance, and we won't force toxic
positivity on you.
Instead, we'll educate you about the common injuries of yoga. the challenges of making it as a yoga teacher in this economy, and what to actually expect on your path of yoga.
In short, we keep it real. 💯
Teacher Training IS NOT for you if you're only looking for positivity, manifesting abundance, and other fluffy New Age philosophy.
Teacher Training IS for you if you want to make yoga relevant to modern, urban Westerners while also respecting its Indian roots and learn to teach powerful yoga classes that inspire and change lives.
Not sure if this is the right program for you? Grab a spot on Justicia's calendar for a free, no-pressure call. ✨

The jungle is calling 📣
