On August 28, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial. Just two years later, in the summer of 1965, he brought that same message straight to West Philadelphia. Standing at 40th and Lancaster Avenue, he spoke to more than 10,000 people about freedom, economic justice, and dignity for all.
That moment didn’t belong to Washington or a national stadium it belonged to this block, this avenue, and this neighborhood.
Decades later, Lancaster Avenue is still gathering, building, and moving forward. At Make Ur Mark 365 Inc., we believe economic justice and community strength aren’t distant ideals. They are created right here block by block, neighbor by neighbor, business by business every single day.
We built Make Ur Mark 365 Inc. to keep Dr. King’s vision alive. Through creating youth and adult programs, to equip people in our community with the tools, skills, and support they need to rewrite their stories and leave a lasting legacy of their own.
Every August, we bring our mission to life with Freedom Now Fest a celebration of our history, our neighborhood, and our collective future.

JAZZ FEST NEW DATE
Due to the forecast of severe weather, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the 20th Annual Lancaster Avenue Jazz & Arts Festival to ensure the safety of our performers, vendors, volunteers, partners, and community.
New Date: Sunday, July 19
New Time: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Saunders Park Greene (39th & Powelton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19104)
We're excited that we'll still have the opportunity to celebrate together, honoring the legacy of John Coltrane through a full day of live jazz, art, family activities, local vendors, food, and community.
