Hot take from a bridal makeup artist: Not every dark under eye needs orange corrector. TT has struck again convincing everyone that every dark undereye needs a dark orange or red color corrector but let me tell you why this won’t work.

One of the biggest mistakes I see artists & makeup lovers make is assuming every form of darkness should be treated the same. Blue, purple, gray, brown, and shadowing all behave differently on the skin.

Before reaching for another color corrector, ask yourself:

-What color am I actually trying to neutralize?
-Is this discoloration or is it shadow?
-Can my foundation or concealer do some of the work?

The goal isn’t to completely erase every bit of color before foundation. The goal is to create neutral balance before brightening while keeping the finish light and seamless.

These under eyes didn’t need more products. They needed an understanding of color theory.
