Trust us, we understand the urge. That one lifting edge feels impossible to leave alone. But it’s a lot more harmful than you think.

Gel isn’t sitting on top of your nail, it’s stuck to it. So when you peel or bite it off, a layer of your actual nail goes with it. That’s why nails end up thin, bendy, and sore after a rough removal, and why they sometimes split or get those little white patches. It can take months to grow that layer back.

Biting is hard on the skin around your nails too. Those tiny tears in your cuticles can get irritated or even infected.

A soak off takes only 15 to 20 minutes and it’s so much kinder to your nails. We use acetone to loosen the gel so it slides right off, then shape, buff, and add some moisture back in so you’re ready for your next set.
