Keeping blonde hair bright and beautiful isn’t just about the install—it’s about the upkeep, too. Here are a few of my favorite tips for maintaining blonde extensions:

• Clarify periodically – A gentle clarifying shampoo helps remove mineral and product buildup that can dull blonde tones.
• Use a filtered shower head – Hard water and minerals can make blonde hair look brassy over time. A filter helps keep the color fresh.
• Purple shampoo (in moderation) – This helps neutralize unwanted yellow tones and keep blondes looking bright and icy.
• Schedule color refreshes – Blonde extensions may need a gloss or tone every so often to keep everything looking perfectly blended.
• DO NOT USE sunscreen with avobenzone. This ingredient will turn your extensions orange! Find a mineral sunscreen instead!

This is a more subtle transformation than my last post, but still a fun one! This guest’s hair looks so thick and full after adding 1 row of IBE®! We also use extensions that are ever so slightly lighter to give a dimensional color.

I almost decided not to post this before and after because I didn’t care for the lighting. But it is such a great transformation that I decided to just do it!
