What if I told you that the hardest part of my cancer journey isn’t always the cancer?

I was diagnosed with cancer before the age of 50. I never imagined that a few symptoms would change the course of my life. Since then, there have been surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, endless appointments, medications, scans, and so many days where simply getting out of bed has felt like a victory.

I haven’t been able to work for years. My husband has missed countless hours of work to take me to treatments and appointments. Like so many families facing cancer, we’ve learned that the financial burden doesn’t stop when you leave the hospital. It follows you home.

In the middle of all of this, we created Healing4Joy.com

We didn’t build it to get rich. We built it to spread hope, raise awareness about early cancer detection, encourage other cancer warriors, and hopefully earn enough to help our family while giving back to others one day.

The reality is… we’ve had the website for almost a year and have probably sold only about 20 items, most of them to family and a few incredibly kind supporters. Instead of making money, we’ve continued to lose it.

I don’t want to give up.

I want to keep sharing my journey. I want to keep advocating so someone else doesn’t hear the words, “You have cancer,” later than they should. I want to keep writing poems, songs, and messages of hope. I want Healing4Joy to continue being a place that reminds people they are never alone.

Today, I’m asking for something that doesn’t come easily.
