Before Midnight Hair

Brunette. Healthy. Long. Goals. We had a little help from 1 beaded row here but this is goals! How did she get here? She focused on her hair health from the inside out. She didn’t rely on some TikTok gimmick or buy a bunch of hair supplements. She focused on her blood work and healthy stress levels. That comes first. Serums, bonnets, oils, gummies….. that comes later. Having balanced nutrition and a balanced life is not easy so we all (including myself) try and buy our way out of it and skip the work. The real reason most people are losing hair is poor nutrition and stress. Your hair can take a lot more abuse if it’s strong. Most of us have weak hair to begin with and if we simply highlight or put heat on our hair it breaks right off. That isn’t NORMAL. Hair is naturally able to withstand a lot. I’ve been doing hair since 2001 and I’ve NEVER seen this much hair loss. Back then we did not have as good of products nor were we as mindful with haircolor. And I’ve seen more hair loss than ever these days. We are doing something wrong yall.

Just stealing photos from clients to show that I’m still here! Just too lazy to take photos and too busy having summer fun to post! My client here is a natural level 2. Basically darkest brown before black. I shadowed her roots a bit to blend out her natural. Loved it. Next time we will go further down with the root but I was too nervous so I bi***ed out. These are her brand new wefts. 24 inches! 2.5 rows!:)

This was a good one and I’m pi**ed I didn’t get a before shot. We did 2 rows of beaded rows and layered it up! The extensions were custom colored with the new cover and mane extension color line! I’m in love. Even if you have multiple colors in your hair we can color match anything with all the new tools that are out now!

Enhancing the natural hair…. Adding some keratin bonds and a gloss is sometimes all you need to look your best. If you want healthy low maintenance hair you can’t overwork it with color and a bunch of extra hair. You CAN achieve natural healthy hair post extensions if you follow a few rules. Don’t overdue it with shifting your hair past its breaking point with color. Don’t overload your hair with too much weight with extensions. Don’t over style hyper hair with heat. Heat styling everyday can slowly break your hair down just as much as color.

No before shot cause I suck…. We did 1 row of 20” beaded rows. Her hair is about 16-18” already so we were just mostly looking to thicken it up. Keeping her dark will allow her old highlights that were breaking her hair off to heal and start to grow out. I keep my hair dark now for this reason. If your hair is weak to begin with adding any chemical will weaken it more. If you are looking for natural length you must focus on the strength and hydration of your hair or it will just break off!

Recently, I have taken a course on business, and the part that dealt with branding took me in a totally different direction. It seemed like I was missing the mark a little bit after hours and hours working on the branding section of the course I realized that I needed to change a few things to align with the type of hair I do. Staying true to myself keeping it fun, I dove right in. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t have to change much as far as the salon. Soften out the color palette but keep the whimsy. After going through all the steps my vibe was(according to adobe) Parisian eclectic. Makes sense. My personal vibe is a bit more loud but I think that my salon vibe needs to speak to my clients more than me. But I was happy that I could figure out to make it speak to both. There are still Cinderella touches everywhere but they are more subtle and pretty. I love it.

But if you are not quite ready for the short bob go for the lob! You can achieve almost anything with extensions! Most of the bright blonde was done with extensions to keep her natural hair healthy while she grows out the front!

Bringing this one back cause I just realized I never posted it…. I do a lot of corrective work when it comes to extensions. A lot of my clients are trying to grow out their fine hair or conceal breakage. Not this lady. She takes such good care of her hair that even with 24” extensions she is able to grow her hair. With long heavy extensions it’s super hard to keep from damaging your natural hair. The longer and thicker your extensions the more cautious you have to be. I don’t know how she does it but I see minimal hair loss everytime.

Could she be any prettier?! Tried to style it beachy and natural instead of a blow out and I’m here for it. Can you believe that this only 2 rows of extensions? She has very fine hair naturally so adding 2 rows is a lot but it was much easier to blend and look natural because the ends weren’t super blunt. If you want this dramatic of a length change you have to either add a ton of extensions in the nose area OR your ends need to have texture like hers did. Swipe all the way right for the before.
