A 1,271-acre community and private golf club are coming to Chatham Park. 🏠⛳

Nashville-based developer Southern Land Company announced plans this week for a new master-planned community in Chatham Park NC. The mixed-use project includes a private golf club with an 18-hole course, a 9-hole short course and state-of-the-art practice facilities, all designed by Tom Fazio, founder and principal of Fazio Golf Design, who has designed more than 200 courses around the world.

Julian "Bubba" Rawl, co-founder of Chatham Park developer Preston Development Company, says they have always envisioned Chatham Park as a community made up of vibrant and diverse neighborhoods with varying amenities, experiences and settings. "Bringing a company like Southern Land Company and Tom Fazio to the project brings an extraordinary level of expertise, creativity and vision to that aspiration,” he says.

Pittsboro Mayor Kyle Shipp calls the project "another example of the caliber of development taking shape here," adding that "It is exciting to see this level of investment in Pittsboro while we continue to build on the strong sense of community, historic downtown and quality of life that make our town distinctive in the region."

The announcement doesn't include a construction timeline, number of homes or pricing just yet, so stay tuned.

Caterpillar announced today that it plans to invest approximately $1 BILLION in North Carolina, including a new manufacturing facility right here in Sanford to expand production of compact track loaders and telehandlers.
