Shea butter comes from the nut of the karite shea tree that is indigenous to Africa. Raw, unrefined shea butter contains vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A and E, as well as essential fatty acids. It has a creamy color and a very distinct smell. It has been used for centuries for its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and antiaging properties. Coconut oil is a medium chain fatty acid. It has relatively small molecules that allow it to pe*****te the skin. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids such as capric acid, caprylic acid and lauric acid. The fatty acids have disinfectant and anti-microbial properties. Coconut oil is high in vitamin E, which is known for its skin healing properties. The triglycerides in coconut oil help to keep moisture from escaping from the skin, which aids in retaining softness and suppleness. Almond oil has been used for thousands of years, and was introduced by Ayurveda more than 5,000 years ago. In India, those specializing in Ayurveda began using almond oil to aid nearly every type of skin condition as well as in relaxation treatments. Almond oil is loaded with vitamins and minerals that are good for your body’s surface as well as internally. Vitamin E is the most prevalent vitamin found in almond oil, and it also contains rich amounts of calcium and magnesium. A sea salt glow, also called a salt scrub, benefits your skin by exfoliating and removing old skin cells, leaving you with hydrated, smooth, more lustrous skin. Applied at home, a basic salt scrub consists of marine salts and essential oils blended into a paste-like substance that can be gently massaged over the body. If you need to look extra special for some occasion, count on a sea salt glow to give you that radiant look.
