Underarm hair is notoriously stubborn!

Underarm hair doesn’t just grow in one straight direction! It almost always grows in a swirl or multi-directional pattern. The top section grows upward toward your arm, while the bottom section grows downward toward your torso!

If you’ve ever experienced missed hairs or skin irritation during an underarm wax, here is the educational breakdown of why sectioning matters:

1. Section First
Never apply wax over the entire underarm at once. Assess the growth pattern and map out at least 2 distinct sections (top and bottom) so you can target each growth angle precisely.

To trap the hair firmly without breakage, smooth the wax down in the exact direction that section of hair is growing. When removing, pull the skin completely taut and snap the strip back in the opposite direction, staying parallel to the skin.

3. Don’t Stress the Second Pass
Fine, stray hairs often get missed on the first pass. This is totally normal! Use hard wax for sensitive areas like the armpit, it adheres to the hair, not the skin, allowing for a safe second pass without risking skin lifting.

Pro Tip: Always apply a fine layer of oil-free powder after cleansing! Underarms trap moisture and oils, which can prevent wax from adhering to the hair properly.
