Believable Skin Care

To continue our discussion of Serums and Moisturizers.
As a reminder, serums are used to pe*****te active ingredients into the skin.
Moisturizers are Humectants. This means they attract and hold moisture to the skin.
Moisturizers are not meant to pe*****te but to stay on the surface of the skin to keep it moisturized.
You can find all kinds of active ingredients in moisturizers, but they do not pe*****te and so they are not effective.
Moisturizers are best chosen by how heavy oily or light they are.
One ingredient that can be helpful in a moisturizer is its mineral and vitamin content. These ingredients help nurture and heal the skins surface. For these ingredients look for marine products.
My favorites marine based moisturizers are found in the
Phytomer and Phytoceane’ skin care lines.

A client recently asked an interesting question. I wanted to share it with you.

If I am using a serum do I need a moisturizer?
Answer…
Moisturizers and Serums work very differently. One does not replace the other.

Let’s start today with what a serum is and why we would want to add them to our routines.
Serums are meant to pe*****te quickly carrying active ingredients into the skin.
They are placed on the skin after cleaning and exfoliation, but before moisturizer.
Here are a few desirable serum ingredients… Peptides, Vitamin C, Arbutin, and Hyaluronic Acid.
They are better used separate from the moisturizer, so the ingredients can pe*****te more freely.
Serums are the work horses that produce antiaging and rejuvenating results to the skin.
