It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Purnell Spears on June 23, 2026.

For 9 years, Mr. Spears served as House Manager at Franklin Grove, showing up every day for the men in our program with steady hands and a steadier heart. He didn’t just manage a house, he helped build a home for men working to rebuild their lives, and his presence shaped this program in ways that will outlast all of us.

To his family, and to everyone whose path he touched at Franklin Grove: we share in your grief and in your gratitude. Rest well, Mr. Spears. Your work here mattered.

Yesterday, we celebrated the end of another successful RUMI Franklin Grove Strivers session and honored the volunteers, instructors, mentors, and supporters who continue to invest in the men we serve.

Every class taught, every conversation shared, and every act of encouragement helps create opportunities for growth, healing, and success.
