I got asked a question today that I think a LOT of people have wondered:
âWhat do you prefer for facial hair removalâwaxing or dermaplaning?â
My answer? A mix of both. đ¤
And hereâs whyâŚ
I typically prefer waxing for the upper lip and chin because these areas often have more noticeable or coarser hair, and waxing removes the hair from the root for longer-lasting smoothness.
For the rest of the face, I love dermaplaning because youâre not only removing fine peach fuzzâyouâre also getting gentle physical exfoliation by removing dead surface skin cells.
So instead of choosing one method for the entire face, I like to look at what each area actually needs.
đ¤ Waxing = longer-lasting hair removal
⨠Dermaplaning = exfoliation + fine hair removal
And noâdermaplaning does not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. The hair may feel different as it grows back because it has been cut at the surface, but the treatment doesnât change the hairâs growth rate, thickness or color.
Your skin isnât one-size-fits-all, so your hair removal doesnât have to be either.
