Recently, I had the absolute honor of tattooing a couple of incredibly meaningful pieces for my uncle & aunt (my dad’s brother & sister)🥹

They both live in different states, so there was definitely extra pressure to get everything just right. I’m still very much a newb (hello, imposter syndrome 👋🏼), so I can’t even begin to explain how much it meant to me that they trusted me with something so personal.

This experience was a roller coaster. I laughed. I panicked (the need to be perfect is real). I locked in. I cried (because meaningful tattoos + being an empath is quite the combo 😅). But I pushed through it.

I’m human. I’m learning. I’m still new, but I have the best mentor & support system at Heartstring. Moments like this remind me why I started this journey in the first place. I love it so much😊🖤🙌🏽

One of my favorite parts of this journey is getting the chance to revisit some of my earlier work. I originally tattooed the hammerhead back in December, near the beginning of my apprenticeship. Today I got to rework it, add some shading, and then add the newest piece to the collection—the sea turtle. 🐢
