Michelle is an event planner and has sent me la host of new guest referrals over the last 15 years. Let’s talk about how hair changes (and how we adapt) over time the course of 2 decades.
COLOR: In the last 2 years, the grey has finally switched M’s texture from fine to a bit more wire-y. Her skin’s undertone is warm, so we love pushing her hair color into a light beige, greige to her blend in all the grays sprinkled throughout her temples. As of 2026, we have adapted all her formulas to meet that need… we are currently using a long lasting, sheer grey coverage formula with no harsh ammonia or peroxide aggravating her curls or her wire-y grey. Her regrowth line is hardly noticeable with this super low-maintenance grey coverage! She is a naturally sun-kissed beauty! We could not be MORE happy with the results! DO you see how she glows up (without ANY makeup on)?!
CUT: Michelle has what Massey (Curly Girl Handbook) would call “Boticelli” curls… I like to think of them as Hybrid Curls. Some corscrew, some spiral, some square bends (fractal curls) … all these patterns across difference zones of the head. Her curl bundles sometimes struggle to find their groups if not cut slowly, with attention to the differences. We truly do a lot of careful curl-by-curl cutting to cater to each different shape.

“Hey everyone! This is Crystal! Stylist AND Social Media Manager for Parlour. For today’s client her main goal was contrast and a new haircut to change the density of her hair and bring back some style to her beautiful salt and pepper hair.
I used the color Granite to even out the pepper in the back quadrant of her hair and added lowlights to make that front money piece POP!
Next I used Pearl to add that luster back into her silver strands and wrapped her up in my signature steam baths to marinate in that Iuveni Mask you know I ADORE. “

Midnight blue on tight curly girly!
Fiyin came in looking for her first professional color service but not just any color. Her favorite hair color - Cobalt Blue. Fiyin’s auntie always has her done up in the latest braid designs, wig and hair additons in her favorite color so she decided to make it permanent!
We took extra care with her curls and used a low and slow method to not only take care of the curl integrity but to achieve an even lift. Tight curls tend to lighten up fast and using a lower developer helps you maintain long term health and preserve the curl pattern.
As insurance, we did a reparative Olaplex Bond Treatment on her highlighted ends before applying the blue. It was honestly a pleasure to see Fiyin and her mother feel good about her first transformation experience and a joy to see how much she loves her new look.
