I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this part of my life for a very long time.

Honestly, I’m terrified to even hit the post button, but here we go…

Hi, my name is Kristen and I’m a domestic violence survivor.

There. I said it.

This is something I’ve kept pretty private for years. Not because I’m ashamed of what happened to me, but because talking about it means opening up a chapter of my life that was incredibly painful.

I’ve experienced things that no woman should ever have to experience at the hands of someone who was supposed to love and protect her.

Mental abuse. Verbal abuse. Physical abuse. Sexual abuse.

For a long time, those were things I didn’t know how to talk about.

But here I am, years later, married to an amazing man, raising my beautiful babies, building my businesses and creating a life that I once could only dream about.

And while I’m incredibly proud of the woman I’ve become, I will never forget the younger version of myself who had to survive those things.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this year I finally feel ready to use my voice.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy or attention. I’m sharing because there might be another woman reading this who feels completely alone.

And if that’s you, I want you to know that you deserve love that doesn’t hurt. You deserve to feel safe. You deserve so much more.

This is just a small piece of my story, but it’s a piece I’m finally ready to share.

I’m a survivor. And I’m no longer going to be silent about it. 💜

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve actually introduced myself over here, and there are some new faces, so hi! I’m Kristen.

I’ve been behind the chair since 2013 and I specialize in lived-in color, blonding, brunettes and extensions.

And if I’m being completely real, life has been BUSY lately. Between being a mom, running a salon business and somehow also deciding I needed to start a baking business, posting my hair work definitely got pushed to the side for a minute.

But I’m still here. Still obsessed with good hair. Still taking clients. And I’m ready to start showing you guys what I’ve been doing behind the chair again.

So whether you’ve been sitting in my chair for years, you’re new here, or you’ve just been silently watching my page waiting to finally book… hi. I’m glad you’re here.

POV: after 13 years, you finally started taking dream clients seriously.

This wasn’t a “just throw brown on it” situation.

She came in with warmth, banding, and uneven tone, so we built a customized brunette using intentional foiling, controlled depth, and a tone that will fade pretty, not brassy.

This hit me hard in the best way.

I’ve spent so many seasons building from fear, fear of slowing down, fear of saying no, fear of charging what I’m worth, fear of outgrowing old versions of myself.

2026 is about building from intention instead.

Running toward the business, the life, the clients, and the standards I actually want.

Not away from what I’m trying to escape.
