Let’s address the Tomato in the room 🍅
Redness, flakiness, tightness, itching, burning, stinging… these words are usually used to describe negative reactions associated with skin care.
But what if I tell you that when you are trying to TRULY CORRECT your skin, these same words are actually POSITIVE 🤯.
⚠️These reactions are ANTICIPATED REACTIONS which will quickly start stimulating skin REPAIR. Meaning I am intentionally creating short term inflammation in the skin with a protocol designed to target and correct / improve my concerns and know that my skin will adapt.
If you’re looking at this and saying “I could never 🙂↔️” That’s totally fair! This approach isn’t for everyone and there are other approaches to creating change with professional skin care that have less anticipated reactions but results will also take a little more time to see.
🛑 To be CLEAR: This type of reaction should not be happening with over counter products that have very little actives and provides you no professional guidance, education, or support.
There is absolutely a difference between Anticipated reactions and Allergic Reactions or reactions due to a compromised barrier / skin condition and having an esthetician that can help you understand the differences and give you the guidance you need to work best with your skin so that your not worse off than when you started is hella KEY🔑
At the end of the day, the saying that change cannot happen in your comfort zone can also apply to skin care routine and that isn’t always a bad thing.
