There comes a point when you want more from exercise than just getting through another workout.

You want to feel strong. Keep your muscle. Improve your balance. Trust your body to keep up with the life you want to live. You want to have community and accountability.

And maybe you’ve been curious about Pilates, but you’re wondering whether the studio will understand your body, your injuries, your age or your limitations.

That’s exactly why Radical Change Pilates & Wellness exists.

Our focus is adults over 40, although you’ll find all ages in our classes. We teach the full Pilates system, not just the Reformer, with comprehensively trained instructors who continue their education monthly with our founder and through group training together with a classical teacher who’s been teaching more than 30 years.

You’ll work hard here. You’ll get stronger. And you’ll be taught by people who know the difference between challenging your body and disregarding what it needs. You are safe here, in all the ways that count.

You’ll also find people who know each other’s names, hug when they arrive, laugh through the hard stuff and genuinely enjoy being in the room together.

Because we want more for you than being good at Pilates. We want you to have a strong body that lets you keep living your life.

Radical Change Pilates & Wellness.
An urban sanctuary of movement and life.

The slide gives you three reasons. Here are three more that matter when you’re learning something new as an adult.

1. You’re being taught by someone who understands adult learners.
I’ve been teaching adults new skills since I was in the Navy 30 years ago. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to be competent in your life and suddenly not know what the hell you’re doing. Our training is built to help you learn, practice, ask questions, make mistakes and develop confidence; not prove how quickly you can memorize Pilates.

2. Business mentoring is built into your education.
Learning to teach Pilates and learning how to make money as a Pilates teacher are two different skill sets. I’m an active entrepreneur and business mentor, so we cover the part many trainings leave out entirely and have you standing there with a certification wondering, Okay… now how do I actually get paid? Pricing, clients, positioning, scheduling, business basics and avoiding some very expensive beginner mistakes are part of the conversation.

3. Your education continues outside the training hours.
Studio classes are included during training so you can experience the work in your own body, observe different instructors and keep learning in an actual working studio. After graduation, you’ll have access to discounted studio classes so you can continue practicing and developing your eye.

You don’t have to already know how to teach.
You’re coming to training to learn.

And if becoming a beginner again feels a little scary? Good. We know what to do with that.

Pilates Mat Teacher Training runs November 7 to December 20 and held Saturdays 12:30pm to 6pm and Sundays 1pm - 6pm; Thanksgiving weekend off.

In-studio in San Diego + live online.

The best part of our jobs as teachers here is seeing how strong you all are day to day, month to month and year to year.

You don’t wait to get fit. The time goes by anyway.

Fit and healthy aren’t destinations.
They’re decisions.

You say you’re going to show up. For yourself. And when you cancel or don’t even make the appointment, you’re telling yourself that you can’t.

The Radical Change is showing up for yourself. Again and again and again.

Let us know if we can help!

You need to lift weights. We know. You know. Your muscles definitely know.

The median age in this Strength & Train class is 52 because getting stronger is not something you age out of. If anything, this is when we stop playing around with it.

And we’ve got you covered.
Can’t make daytime classes?
Natasha is bringing Strength & Train to the evening schedule. Weights, resistance, balance and functional movement with coaching that pays attention to the body actually doing the work.

No frantic HIIT. No keeping up with the 23-year-old in the corner. No need to already “be strong” before you walk through the door.

Just come ready to work, laugh, lift some s**t and get stronger.

There are about 90 days left in this year. That’s plenty of time to feel different walking into the next one.

You’re worth the time it takes to build a stronger body.

Schedule through the link in our bio and get ready to get strong. 💪🏾

I’m 53, lifting a 35-pound kettlebell when just last year I couldn’t lift an empty coffee cup.

At this age, I’m not training because I need exercise to punish me. I’m training because I have a life I want my body to keep up with.

As a trainer for 30+ years and a pilates studio owner, there are three consistent things I hear constantly from people my age who come in for a class or private session:

“Everything aches.”
And the instinct can be to move less. But a sedentary body doesn’t become a more capable body. We need movement, load, mobility and strength.

“I feel weak.”
Doing nothing about feeling weak doesn’t make you feel stronger. Strength has to be practiced. Sometimes that means Pilates. Sometimes that means picking up something heavy and putting it back down.

“I’m losing muscle.”
We need that muscle. For stairs. Balance. Carrying groceries. Getting off the floor. Traveling. Recovering when we stumble. Continuing to live independently and do the things we enjoy.

And number four is what I hear after someone notices how they’ve changed or how much stronger they are.

I want feel fu***ng good.
Endorphins. Energy. Confidence. S*x. Or***ms. Pleasure. All of it.

Nothing changes until you change and if being sore and canceling every appointment you book is your plan, then nothing has changed.

Sometimes all it takes is accountability.

That’s why Radical Change isn’t a Pilates studio where the goal is getting good at Pilates.

We use Pilates. We lift weights. We work on balance, mobility and functional strength. We pay attention to the body in front of us and train it for the life that person actually wants to live.

If you know you need to get stronger but aren’t sure what makes sense for your body now, book a private Pilates or training session with us in San Diego or virtually.

Or DM here. We’ll have a quick conversation and figure out where you should begin.

You’re going to age either way. Let’s give your body something to work with so that you age well.

She said, “I actually feel stronger in my life. Even my nail girl mentioned how toned I look.”

The reason you’re looking for Pilates and probably isn’t because you want to get better at Pilates.

You want to stay strong. Keep your balance. Move without constantly negotiating with an old injury, a stiff back or aches from sitting all day at work.

And even if you’re skinny now because of GLP1s, you still need to move your body and build muscle!

We live in San Diego! You want to keep hiking, traveling, walking the beach, climbing San Diego hills and doing the things that make living here so damn good.

That’s why Radical Change is a rehabilitation-focused Pilates studio.

We’re not interested in turning Pilates into another fast, frantic workout where keeping up matters more than how your body is actually moving. We slow things down when we need to. We challenge you when you’re ready. We build strength with control, pay attention to alignment and compensation and teach the body in front of us not just the exercise on the schedule.

Because 40, 50, 60 and beyond, the goal isn’t to leave class exhausted.

It’s to build a body that can keep participating in your life and you can actually feel the benefits.

The equipment here are some of the tools.

Being able to walk the beach without pain is the why.

Traditional Pilates + rehabilitation-focused movement and strength training for function, mobility and the life you want to keep living.

If you’re ready to become non-negotiable in your life, join the 30-minute Intro to Reformer class or our Radical Foundations series. DM for details.

Movement is a fu***ng gift and as a movement practitioner and educator, it is a beautiful reminder when the people around you share how your existence allows them to show up in their body and life!

Show the f**k up!♥️💪🏾

How many times have you told yourself, “I need to start doing something”?

Summer is ending. Another year is moving quickly behind it.

And if you’re over 40, waiting matters.

Not because you’re old. Because this is the part of life when strength, balance, mobility and muscle become things you either intentionally build and maintain or slowly notice you have less of.

You don’t need to become a fitness person.
You need a body that can keep participating in the life you’re creating.

Travel. Stairs. Hiking. Getting on the floor. Carrying your own s**t. Recovering when life knocks you sideways. Saying yes without first wondering whether your body can handle it.
That’s what we’re building.

Our 3 Private Pilates Sessions for $279 are an opportunity to begin with someone actually paying attention to your body where it is today and where you want it to take you.

2027 will arrive whether you start now or not.
Begin again.

DM PRIVATE to start yours.

Pilates now is on a spectrum and let’s be real. People like what they’re used to and committing to yourself is a chore.

Finding the time. Or rather, committing to the time you created by scheduling your class or session.

You don’t find time.

You make it. You create it. And then the time and you are non-negotiable.

Cause one thing life is gonna do is life.

And it has seemed to me that turning 50 has me aging in dog years! One day “off” becomes a month and “getting back” seems too much.

And it is. You can’t go back.

You CAN start again. YOU benefit.
