Summer isn’t just about sunshine and beach days, it’s one of the harshest seasons on your skin.

• UV radiation intensifies

Protect your skin! SPF is your BFF!

Use lightweight, barrier-supporting skincare with antioxidants like vitamin C and niacinamide to fight free radicals.

If using both vitamin C and hyaluronic acid, apply vitamin C first (it’s pH-sensitive), then hyaluronic acid (works in an order by thrives on damp skin).

Summer-safe silicone alternatives
• niacinamide: controls oil without clogging pores.
• squalane: mimics skin’s natural oils (hydrates but won’t trap sweat).

Opt for “non-comedogenic” or “water-based” formulas.

💧 Serums: Damp vs. Dry Skin - what’s the deal?

The debate over applying serum on damp vs. dry skin depends on the type of serum, its active ingredients. and your skin’s needs.

Damp Skin
• Peptides (better absorption)
• Niacinamide (boost absorption)
• Hyaluronic Acid (locks in hydration)

Dry Skin
• Retinol (less irritation)
• Vitamin C (stable pe*******on)
• Exfoliants (AHAs/BHAs - no stinging)

THINNEST → THICKEST
Apply water-based serums first on damp skin, then treatment serums on dry skin.

No chlorine damage here!

Swimming pools may feel refreshing, but they expose your skin to harsh chemicals, intense sun, and dehydration all of which cause premature aging, irritation, and long term damage.

Chlorine (in pools) and salt (in oceans) disrupt your skin’s natural moisture barrier, leaving it dry, flaky, and prone to irritation.

Water reflects UV rays, increasing your risk of sunburns (even in the shade!).

UVA rays (aging) + UVB rays (burning) = wrinkles, dark spots, and skin cancer risk over time.

• apply (and reapply!) water-resistant SPF 50
• rinse off immediately after swimming
• use antioxidant serums (vitamin C) to fight free radicals
• moisturize heavily post-pool to restore hydration
• wear a hat and UV blocking sun glasses

Poolside fun shouldn’t wreck your skin. A little prep + aftercare keeps your skin glowing all summer. ☀️

Myth: Chemical exfoliants are harsh, scrubs are safer.

FACT: Physical scrubs (especially with jagged particles like walnut shells) can cause micro-tears and irritation.

Chemical exfoliants (AHA’s/BHA’s) are gentler and pe*****te deeper without abrasion.

Over-exfoliation leads to redness, sensitivity, and breakouts.
