✨ A Reminder About Kindness in Beauty ✨

After stepping away from social media, I came across a video that reminded me why I took a break. it was one of those viral moments where a beauty artist was publicly shamed, and it hit me deeply.

Here’s the truth: We’re all human. Miscommunications happen, preferences differ, and things don’t always go perfectly. But every artist I know genuinely wants their clients to feel amazing.

After over a decade in beauty, I’ve learned honesty and kindness are everything. Here are a few ways we can create a positive experience together:

💌 Speak Up with Love: If something isn’t quite right, let your artist know during the appointment! We welcome feedback and want you to feel 100% happy.

📸 Bring Inspiration Photos: Words like “soft glam” or “smokey eye” mean different things to everyone. Visuals bridge the gap and help us create your vision.

✨ Be Realistic: Social media filters and Pinterest-perfect photos aren’t always achievable. We enhance your natural beauty, but we can’t recreate AI.

💬 Give Private Feedback: If something wasn’t perfect, let us know privately. Feedback helps us grow! Public criticism, though, can be devastating for small businesses.

Above all, Be Kind. We pour our hearts into this work. We strive for perfection but are only human. Your kindness makes all the difference.

I’ll be in Australia on a mini honeymoon, celebrating my birthday 🥳, and enjoying the holidays with family. With no access to the internet, I’ll be completely stepping away from DMs, emails, and all the busyness for the month of December. 🎄💆‍♀️

I wish more artists knew about canned email responses and implementing workflow systems so they can spend more time doing the fun stuff like hair and makeup.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​True Story: it used to take me FOREVER to respond to an inquiry, email back making sure I had all the information to reserve their date, write out a contract, create an invoice and MORE.

It's all apart of being a small business owner (and a creative).

Fortunately through trial and error, running multiple businesses, and even teaching - I've learned how to SAVE SO MUCH TIME

Which = better work/life balance

I want to know below - how long does it take you to respond to an inquiry/email? I'll post my answer in the comments :)

I often get asked if I prefer to do hair or makeup better and I always say - I love BOTH!

It's true - when you do both you can create an entire look. 👀

I also don't mind just doing all hair or all makeup. Kits are smaller with just one type lol

That being said I have about 3 makeup and 4 hair trials before I fly out. ✈️ ❤️ I'm so excited to meet my 2024 brides, client and more to help create their vision!

I may also try and squeeze in a mini hair content day. 🤞Shoutout to who was one of my past content models for letting me style your fun pink locks and for being my hype girl 🥹

Ps - want to know what my favorite curling irons to use are? I get asked all the time because I have yet to meet anyone with the same ones.

Do you believe in magic? ✨ The lyrics playing as I took this photo from today's wedding where I got to do hair and makeup repping . Forever grateful to the clients and artists who bring me on for such special days.

My favorite quote from today was "OMG is that the phone or the makeup?" lol 😂 It's just how the makeup photographs 🥹 *- Blurred background

To get this makeup look we based it off an inspiration photo and decided to go with more pinky brown shadows, a little wing, inner corner highlight and smokey bottom shadow, full coverage but glowy and natural. For the lip glossy with a brighter center. We adjusted all the colors to compliment her skin tone.

For today's gratitude challenge, the 3 I'll be talking about are:

✨Integrating Technology - I have always loved technology from the moment I could walk, learning how to type commands into a computer to run my kid's game. Yes it was a black screen with green writing and you had to tell the computer what to do lol As new technology and AI come out my action plan has been to learn and integrate them into my business. This is how I feel really comfortable with CRM systems, AI apps and other new tech. Heck I’m trying out new things just by doing this challenge ❤️

✨Teaching - I am getting back into teaching by offering newly updated classes and a mentorship program to really help those looking for actionable accountability. Because when you know someone is checking on you and your progress you’re more likely to do it lol 😂 Teaching at really lit 🔥 a fire in my soul and I feel grateful to have been able to teach the students I have thus far and watch them not only succeed but thrive 🙌

✨ Making others feel good - when you look good, you feel good. I love working with my clients and getting to know them in such an intimate setting face to face. My action plan going forward will be to implement new packages for clients to help them further cultivate those feelings and leave with good vibes. ❤️

I am truly grateful for these gifts and strengths and can’t wait to share more of them with the 🌎
