Every year my niece picks a fun bright color for her birthday, and it has turned into one of my favorite traditions.

Summer is hard on hair, and even harder on extensions. A little prep before you get in the water goes a long way.

The trick is to soak your hair in clean water and work in a leave in conditioner first. Hair that is already full of fresh water and product has less room to soak up chlorine and salt. Rinse well when you get out, and go easy on the heat while it dries. Swipe for all six steps so your extensions stay soft and blended all season.

Curly girls, this one's for you. Adding length and density to curly hair is one of my favorite things to do, and one of the trickiest to get right.
