Thank you for all of the amazing support over the last three decades for the Nicolas Studio Salon, Nicolas Precision Haircutting System videos & seminars, and the Nicolas Haircare System line of professional products! I have been incredibly touched by you reaching out to share your reminiscences about your experiences as students in my classes and your love for my products. It is very gratifying to know that I have changed lives and made the world a little more beautiful, one haircut, seminar, and product sale at a time.
As I begin this latest phase of my professional life, cutting hair a couple of days a week at a local Union Square SF salon, I reflect on what a journey it has been for a young man from Bournemouth UK. I have had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with some of the titans of the hairstyling world, work in three countries, own a salon in the most wonderful city on the planet, and meet so many fabulous people through my styling work over the last forty-odd years, touching so many lives through my educational and product systems. I have been blessed!
I have searched the internet for products most similar to the Nicolas Haircare System ones that you have known and loved so much over the years - while I wait for my Web Guy to put it up on the nicolashair.com website, check out my "Where To Buy" list here in the comments below. Look me up if you are in San Francisco and need a great Nicolas cut, and remember "If Your Hair Is Not Becoming To You, You Should Be Coming To Nicolas!"
Good thing that the industry has moved past this … although the snacks while under the dryer are a nice touch!

I am sad to share that I am closing up shop on the product line. As of July 2026, we will no longer be selling our Nicolas Haircare product line and I will be closing our San Francisco offices. I will move to a local salon where I will be doing hair for my clients one or two days a week. Being a stylist is what started me in this business over 56 years ago and it is coming full circle for me as I end my career in the same place I started it — behind the chair.
The reasons behind my decision are many and varied; the retirement of our long time manufacturer in 2024, inability to source ingredients for the products you have come to know and love, huge price increases in the products we can get, lob delays and sudden discontinuations on products - none of this is fair to you, our loyal customers. The long term outlook for manufacturing in this sector is bleak and I know that these trends will only worsen before they begin to improve. Frankly, I can’t wait for this to happen; every day that goes by I am losing (a lot) of money and the confidence that you have had in Nicolas Haircare as a source for the best in hair care products.
We will begin a 35% sale on the nicolashair.com website for our retail clients on 5/1 and will be selling until our shelves are empty. We will begin a sale for our wholesale clients in June.
