🌸 In Chinese medicine, menopause is called “Second Spring” (第二春 di er chun)- a season of renewal, when the energy you’ve spent decades giving outward finally returns to you.
But the transition can be turbulent. Hot flashes, night sweats, disrupted sleep, mood swings. in Chinese medicine, these are signs of Yin and Yang recalibrating, and they’re deeply treatable.
Acupuncture helps regulate the nervous system, cool internal heat, and restore deep sleep. Custom herbal formulas nourish Yin and support your body as it finds its new rhythm.
And this isn’t either/or: if you’re considering hormone replacement therapy, or already on it, acupuncture and herbs work beautifully alongside HRT, easing the edges where hormones don’t fully touch and supporting sleep, digestion, mood, and spirit.
You don’t have to handle this transition alone. Your Second Spring is meant to for you to bloom 🌷

Say hello to the Forest Room 🌲
I wanted this room to feel like exhaling. Deep forest walls. Warm wood. Soft light through bamboo shades. A space that lowers your shoulders before the treatment even begins.
Because healing isn’t just about what happens on the treatment table - it’s also your nervous system settling the moment you enter the room. Rest is easier to find in a space that already feels restful.
In Chinese medicine, the Wood element is about growth, renewal, and the quiet strength of trees. It felt right to bring a little forest into the Mission.
Come experience it yourself.

The “before” 🤪

Your face tells the truth about your nervous system.
The tight jaw, the pinched brows, the tired eyes sleep doesn’t fix - it all traces back to a body stuck in survival mode. And most of my patients don’t think they’re in survival mode. They’re just… busy. Waking at 3am and calling it “just how I sleep now.” When you’ve been bracing for years, bracing stops feeling like bracing. It just feels like you.
But your face keeps the record. Survival mode pulls blood away from your skin, slows collagen, keeps your expression on guard - even in your sleep.
Cosmetic acupuncture works on both levels: facial needles stimulate collagen and soften tension where you see it, while body points shift you into rest-and-repair, where skin actually regenerates.
That’s when I hear:
✨ “People keep asking if I changed my skincare.”
🌊 “Little things don’t send me spiraling anymore.”
Notice the second one isn’t about your face? That’s the point. In Chinese medicine, beauty is qi and blood flowing freely - and qi flows freely when the whole system is settled.
Beauty isn’t separate from healing. It’s what healing looks like from the outside.

So honored to support the bodies that walk into the clinic. This past week brought in a variety of issues to keep things exciting for me as a practitioner!
We’re getting to the heart of summer, and it is honestly the best time to receive acupuncture. Especially if you’re the type who is susceptible to every cold and flu that comes your way in autumn and winter. Immune systems are built during the summer.

Look at the centerline. 👀
We started this work focused on her skin - but that’s not the only thing that changed.
Between February and April, her head position shifted noticeably: less forward head posture, better alignment of the head over the cervical spine, more symmetry through the jaw. And here’s the thing - posture was never the treatment goal.
This happens more often than you’d think, because in cosmetic acupuncture we’re never working on the face in isolation. The treatments release chronic tension patterns that pull the head forward out of alignment. As a result, the muscles of the jaw, neck, and shoulders all let go of their grip and the head can actually rest where it’s meant to: balanced over the spine instead of craning toward.
The face is connected to everything below it, so when the whole system shifts, the results show up in places we weren’t even watching.
(Her skin is clearer too - you may have noticed. That part WAS the plan. 😉)

A gift found me recently.
One of my neighborhood’s little free libraries offered me this: *Welcoming the Unwelcome* by Pema Chödrön.
The title could be a Chinese medicine teaching! In TCM, symptoms aren’t enemies to suppress - they’re the body’s most honest communication. Night sweats signal yin declining and unable to anchor yang. Irritability points to Liver qi stagnating under pressure. Insomnia often traces back to a Heart no longer nourished by blood.
When we medicate these signals into silence without listening first, we lose the map. When we welcome them by investigating them, by treat their root … the body reorganizes toward balance.
This is especially true in perimenopause, when the body speaks louder than it has in decades. Those symptoms aren’t a malfunction. They’re a transition asking to be supported, not suppressed.
So much of acupuncture is simply this: creating conditions quiet enough for the body to be heard and answered.
What’s your body been telling you lately? Here to help you listen.

June was a month I invested in me and healing old wounds.
Not in a spa-day, self-care-check-list kind of way. In a real, deliberate, sometimes uncomfortable way. The kind of healing that asks something of you.
Here’s everything I did to support my healing: sound bath, reiki, acupuncture, chiropractic, breathwork, massage, prayer, meditation & neural reprogramming, contrast therapy, talk therapy, coaching, canna, Chinese medicinal herbs, long solitary walks in nature, yoga, gyrotonic, pilates, reading, naps, buying myself a really nice meal, canceling plans, setting boundaries.
If that sounds like a lot of self-care, it was. Intentionally. Not to do it all, all the time (impossible). But to take inventory of the healing practices that feel the safest for me, right now.
As a Chinese Medicine practitioner who spends her days holding space for other people’s healing, I’ve learned that I can only give what I actually have. And for awhile, I was giving from a place of depletion - running on willpower and habit instead of genuine fullness.
This month was about breaking that pattern.
It wasn’t linear. Some days I felt cracked open. Some days I felt nothing. Some days I felt everything all at once. But underneath all of it, something was shifting - quietly, persistently, the way real healing always does.
I’m not a finished product. I’m not on the other side of anything. But I am more myself than I was 30 days ago.
This is what I believe in. Not just for my patients - for me too.
If you’ve been waiting for permission to go all in on your own healing - this is it.

Photo: This is literally the first full-body mirror selfie I have ever taken in my life.😂I took myself on a solo weekend, and I wore the widest leg jeans I’ve ever worn. I wasn’t allowed to wear wide leg jeans as a teen! It was the AZN days and only G’s wore wide legs 😂I healed a part of my inner teen that weekend.

We start by identifying 1-3 of your primary health concerns - then we get to work changing the patterns beneath them by: paying attention, utilizing bodywork via acupuncture, gua sha or cupping, and internally, with herbal medicine.
Most patients commit to about 12 treatments over 3 months, typically weekly (more often early on if you’re in acute pain). Twelve treatments give us a container for real, transformative healing. But the real marker of healing isn’t the number of treatments - it’s two weeks of sustained symptom relief in a row. That’s how we know the pain pattern has truly shifted. That’s how we know we’ve done our job.
Along the way, I’ll teach you self-care tools to use at home for your unique symptoms. Because the goal isn’t weekly acupuncture visits forever - it’s lasting change, and a renewed relationship with your individual body.
You might then graduate from active care, and only come back if and when something new arises. (Most patients choose to continue regular maintenance visits because that’s how much acupuncture helps them.)
I want you empowered in your health, not just symptom-free for a moment before it flares again.

This is what 12 cosmetic acu treatments looks like.
Yes, you can see changes on the outside - brighter skin, more even tone, less tension. But what you can’t see in these photos is the transformation that matters most - the one that happened inside.
Overwhelming emotions that showed up every menstrual cycle, in a pattern all too familiar to many women.
But here’s what I’ve come to understand in this work: the depth of someone’s strong emotions is often a direct reflection of the depth of their heart. The strong emotions were never a “problem.” They were the signal of an extraordinarily tender, compassionate person whose nervous system was carrying more than it could hold.
Acupuncture didn’t make her feel less. It helped her feel BETTER - more regulated, more resourced, more able to move through her cycle without being swept away by it.
She still feels deeply. She still cares profoundly. She just no longer drowns in it.
And her skin? It’s glowing - because when the inner world finds its rhythm, the outer world reflects it.
This is why I do this work. Not just for the glow. For the whole person underneath it.
