Redheads!!! I know this is a huge fear and complaint for you, so I hope this helps. 😊😊
Here are a few things I do to prevent bright orange roots as a grey blending specialist:
1. I never use a straight red or copper formula. At least 50% of my color formulation is a neutral tone and the remaining 50% is a combination of gold and red or copper. This helps grey to blend and significantly reduces the chance of the color being too bright.
2. I almost always use a Demi permanent color for grey blending whether it’s for a lowlight or a root color.
3. I use multiple lowlight formulas to break up the grey. Natural redheads naturally have multiple colors growing out of their head. Some strands are gold, some are copper and some are blonde. I do my best to formulate lowlights that match all of the colors and use them in different foils. Yes, this is tedious and time consuming but damn does it look good!
Redheads- does this make sense? Save this post to show your stylist if you’re interested in grey blending and you have no idea where to start.
Y’all always thinking the worst 😮💨
Oh good, you’re not busy!
No need to do her whole head when this is her only problem area.
Who else has a cowlick that just won’t quit?
It’s a selfless act, really 🫶🏼
