5 hills I will ALWAYS die on as a hairstylist ✂️✨
If you want healthy, shiny, head-turning hair, let’s clear up a few myths! 💖
1️⃣ Ditch the air-drying! 💨 Leaving your hair wet for too long breeds bacteria and opens up the cuticle, leading to dull color and premature fading; especially for color-treated or thick hair!
2️⃣ Turn down the heat! 🌡️ Always use heat protectant and cap your hot tools at 375°F (300°–350°F for fine hair). If you wouldn’t cook chicken that high, don’t do it to your hair! 🐔🔥
3️⃣Silk & satin protection is a MUST. 🛌 Protecting your hair with a bonnet or satin pillowcase preserves your style and prevents breakage. Bonus points for heatless overnight curlers! (And please... no sleeping on wet hair! 🛑)
4️⃣Great hair care doesn’t have to break the bank. 💸 Effective professional products don’t need a huge price tag; brands like Paul Mitchell deliver amazing results without the luxury markup!
5️⃣ Don’t fear texturizing shears or razors! ✂️ Bad past experience? Blame the technique, not the tool! When used correctly, they add magic texture and movement.

I’ve been having some serious Post-Parton Depression lately, but today felt like the right day to share this. I never shared much about my love for Dolly prior to her passing, but over the last two years, after visiting Dollywood for the first time, I completely fell in love with everything she stood for.
I’ve always admired people who live their life like Jesus; those who prioritize giving back, caring for others, and spreading pure kindness. Dolly was the absolute epitome of that, all while wearing the most beautiful rhinestones and being so much bigger than life itself. She was overwhelmingly talented, writing over 3,000 songs, including all of her own hits. What more could you ask for in an icon?
I know when she met Jesus, He said, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” She was, and always will be, such an incredible role model. I’ve been having a really hard time lately, but I feel so blessed that I got to share this earth with her for nearly 40 years.
To honor her on Dolly Day (9/25), I’m holding onto one of my favorite quotes from her: “If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.” 💕✨

In Memory of Betty Jean Uriegas 💙
The Kids’ Chance of Georgia family extends our deepest condolences to our alumna, Dr. Betsy Grunch, and her family on the passing of her mother, Betty Jean Uriegas.
Betty dedicated her career to serving Hall County as a dispatcher, jail officer and sheriff’s deputy. In 1994, Betty suffered an accident in the line-of-duty when her patrol vehicle struck a tree, leaving her a C4 quadriplegic. Through it all, she faced the years that followed with extraordinary strength, courage and grace.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the Kids’ Chance of Georgia | Betty Uriegas Memorial Scholarship.
Gifts made in Betty’s memory will help provide educational opportunities to students whose families have also been impacted by a parent’s workplace injury. Betty's story is a beautiful reminder of the lasting impact that supporting the children of injured workers can have.
