✨ one of the most common questions we get at RADIANT: how (and when) should i exfoliate before my spray tan?

the key is finding the sweet spot—not too much, not too little.

🩷 over-exfoliating can leave your skin irritated, causing patchiness, uneven color, and a tan that fades faster.

🧡 under-exfoliating allows dead skin buildup to grab onto the solution, leading to darker dry areas, uneven fading, and a shorter-lasting tan.

✨ our recommendation:
• exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment.
• use a non-oil-based exfoliant or an exfoliating mitt.
• pay extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles, wrists, and feet.
• arrive with clean, dry skin—no lotion, oils, deodorant, perfume, or makeup.

for most skin types, exfoliating 2–3 times per week is enough to keep your skin healthy and spray tan-ready.
