Hi! π I am Angela, the owner and practitioner behind Moonlight Medicine! π€ I am finishing up my 9th year in business! I am an acupuncturist, herbalist, herbal medicine teacher, author and most recently this year, teaching Chinese medical language at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. π₯° My undergraduate degree from University of Washington was in East Asian Studies and Mandarin Chinese (truthfully, just one English poetry class away from that double major in Chinese, ha! But I went on to live in China and continued studies in Chinese and art). π€ In my clinic, I treat a mix of internal medicine using acupuncture and herbs (emotional health, women's health, digestion, to name a couple), pain of all sorts and facial acupuncture for cosmetic purposes, facial pain and also for internal purposes (confidence, overall well being). π€ In my free time, I like to walk, read fiction (a lot of horror), dance, cook and go to concerts! Halloween time is my favorite time of year ππ and I love croissants and coffee as much as life, haha! βοΈπ₯π€ I have had the pleasure of working with Sterling Ocean this year, who took this beautiful photo of my book and me, and I wanted to share. π₯° For those of you who are new here, welcome and thank you for being here! I would love to meet you! Come see me at my clinic, or get on my newsletter to get notified of new classes and events! π€ Sterling Ocean

Today wrapped up 6 months for me of teaching Medical Chinese translation to the 1st year students at Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) π€ We typically would take a passage from a classical text like the Huang Di Nei Jing, look at grammar structures and vocabulary and translate Classical Chinese. I find this so very important in our medicine to get a deeper understanding of the medicine through Chinese language and culture, and not overlook this importance and also just how it influences what we do! π€ We were done with cases today and I brought in this little song/poetry book that has Chinese formulas and pathologies so the students could hear/read some of these (they sound so sweet when you say them!). We did Xiao Qing Long Tang today (not pictured) and it talked and rhymed about the herbs in the formula, and how you modify the formulas depending on symptoms your patient was having (that verse was based off something from the Shang Han Lun we discovered today!). Then we wrapped up class listening to Jay Chou and learning Peng You by Zhou Hua Jian.. warmed my little heart singing karaoke in class with them, ha! So nerdy and so fun π π€ Thank you to any students if you see this! It meant the world to me.

You guys have been asking for this, and now it's an option for self-scheduling! β¨οΈ After your microneedling session, we do 30 min of Celluma red light therapy accompanied by acupuncture. The acupuncture can help with redness, puffiness and overall healing plus calming your nervous system after the session! (Full treatment is 90 mins: double-cleanse, numbing cream if you'd like, microneedling with high weight hyaluronic acid and bone marrow stem cells, LED light therapy with full body acupuncture). We can always skip the light as well if it's not your jam! π Book online through the link in my bio and if you have any questions about whether you are a good candidate for microneedling, please reach out! π

It's been exactly a week since my last class at The Lab at π₯² We had such a sweet, fun last class there. At one point I had this full circle moment.. I remember working at Rainbow Natural Remedies and meeting the events coordinator at Ada's and we talked about doing some class with herbal teas (this was many years ago).. flash forward to many classes here from tea blending to tincture making to vinegars and then this last class I am standing here for the last time with my book. This book came from some of these classes. The planning, the trial and error, the feedback I got from students over the years. π₯°ππ₯Ή This isn't the end of classes, by any means, but I just want to thank my friends and students for showing up over the years, Ada's and Jordan (if he ever sees this) for everything and the opportunity to do this. π₯°

Little class carousel over the years - it was so fun going through albums and remembering some of the sweet places I have taught at and so many there is no record of (this is just a small collection!) π₯° I started teaching around 2017, having customers coming into Rainbow Remedies when I worked there, and feeling like we really needed some herbs 101 (that's the last photo when we would teach up in the bulk section!). I still feel foundational knowledge is really important like how to make teas and the differences in herbal preparations! I'll be teaching an herbal tea blending class this Thursday at - link for tickets is in my bio! Bring a friend and we will have a great eve! π§‘

Take a look at these amazing before & after microneedling photos! β¨οΈ I was able to see this person about 4 times over the course of a few months for acne scarring. You can see overall texture and tone difference plus reduction of scars! π Microneedling sessions are typically done once every 4-6 weeks for at least 3 sessions, depending on what you want to achieve. After your first, it takes the skin about 4 more weeks to start building more collagen, so you don't notice results right away. I would have done probably a few more sessions with this client if they hadn't moved, but encouraged them to continue with someone! π If you have any questions or curious if microneedling is right for you, shoot me a message! π₯°

Come in to treat yourself to glowing spring skin π A lot of my patients have been coming in wanting to slough off the winter dullness and dryness. β¨οΈ Cosmetic acupuncture will bring more circulation and energy to your face and tissue, which makes you look and feel amazing; uplifted and calm. π It will also increase your moisture absorption and I add some lovely serums and moisturizer at the end so you leave dewy. π§ If you have any questions, feel free to message me or look at my website for more info!
