for 10 years, this business has been my everything. i was always thinking about work, the next idea, the next goal, what i wanted to change… & then i became a mom

obviously i knew my life was going to change, but i don’t think i realized how much the way i felt about work would change too

for a while i genuinely felt like i lost my spark. things i used to be SO excited about suddenly felt overwhelming & i felt guilty because i still loved my business & everything i had built so much

the funny thing is, coming back to take clients was one of the first things that made me feel like myself again. being in the studio, doing lashes, seeing my clients & being around my girls reminded me how much i still loved what i do

it was everything else that felt hard. social media, content, messages, managing a team, making decisions, thinking about numbers, figuring out what was next… all the things that used to constantly run through my brain suddenly felt SO overwhelming

i realized i didn’t lose my love for my business. i just didn’t have the same amount of space in my brain to give every single part of it anymore

when i was working, i felt guilty i wasn’t with my baby. when i was home, i felt guilty i wasn’t working. it constantly felt like whatever i was doing, i should probably be doing the other thing

& for a while i kept waiting to feel like the “old me” again. the version of me who had all the time & energy in the world to give to my business

but i’m finally realizing i don’t really want to go back to being her

i still LOVE what i’ve built & i still have a million ideas of things i want to do. my priorities are just different now. my time looks different. my boundaries look different. & the way i run & grow my business is going to look different too

i’ve been a little quieter over here while figuring all of that out, but lately i finally feel excited about work again. not because i’m getting the old me back, but because i’m finally figuring out who this version of me is ☁️✨

Hi everyone, I’m Emma!🫶🏻 Im the newest Madison Leigh Co. officially starting on the team back in February 🤍 I always knew I wanted to focus on lashes and brows, so I enrolled in esthetician school in 2024 and also took Madison’s lash course in classic + volume last June. I graduated school in November, got licensed in December, and was so excited to join MLCO a few months later!

I’m super girly, love dressing up for work, and while I’m a homebody, I enjoy treating myself to little solo dates at the beach, movies, or a nice restaurant. I’m super thankful for everything in my life and the obstacles i’ve overcame to get where i am, and i can’t wait to keep growing with MLCO!

“just doing lashes” changed my whole life

i was recently single, when a client turned friend was in for an appointment & told me her friend had an extra ticket for a Morgan Wallen concert if i wanted to go. little did i know, by saying yes to going- i would be meeting my future husband!!

we got engaged this past thanksgiving, & if you know me- you know once i have an idea or something to plan, i waste no time 😹 i planned every detail & executed my dream wedding in 4 months; hence why ive been super mia here on IG

i finally got to go for myself to (someone else i got to cross pass with because of my biz), & less than two weeks after getting engaged we ordered my dream dress & found the dreamiest photographer & booked her right away

a couple weeks ago, that same “client” who introduced us got to be the one who married us 🥹 i found the most perfect venue- Johnny Cash’s old house & got to stay at the property for the week with my family & have a small wedding with as my maid of honor 🥲 & another client turned best friend stood by my side as one of my bridesmaids !!

there’s not a single day that i dont pinch myself that the people i’ve gotten to cross paths with because of my “job” have changed my whole entire life 🫶🏻

so beyond thankful for how busy we are this week- i usually feel so stressed the week of holidays, trying to make sure to get everyone in before hand & usually not giving myself a moment to think, but this year instead of feeling stressed i feel so excited & grateful that i get to see so many faces this week

yesterday we started the day with somehow running out of adhesive/ the humidity ruining a bottle then our power went out in the middle of clients, but the girls problem solved & kept a smile on their face the whole time. pinching myself that i get to be apart of such an amazing team & work along side such talented, hardworking & gracious humans 🥲

so grateful & thankful to be living this life & working this “job”, the team we’ve built & have created, for the clients who’ve stuck around for years, who we get to meet for the first time, & the ones who come back. grateful for this beautiful space i get to show up to every day, for my parents being our emergency hot line & showing up for every minor inconvenience
