Know your neutrals ๐ค๐ค๐ฉถ๐ค
The color blackโฆ no sir ๐คฃ๐
๐ปโโ๏ธ
If youโre an Autumn or another warm season, brown will usually feel more harmonious than black as your go-to neutral ๐ค
Neutrals can look very different depending on your season, but knowing your best neutrals instead of automatically reaching for black (unless youโre a Winter! โ๏ธ) can help create the foundation of your wardrobe and make mixing and matching so much easier as you add in more color ๐
Your neutrals donโt have to be boring! Theyโre the building blocks that let your best colors shine โจ

AI said Soft Summer. Her drapes said True Spring ๐ท
She had previously used AI to virtually type her, but when we draped in person, the difference was clear. She truly came alive in light, bright + warm colors ๐
Had she overhauled her wardrobe based solely on those results, Soft Summerโs cooler, muted colors could have felt off or dull, taking away the luminosity we saw in her natural coloring โจ
And this is why color analysis is about more than submitting a photo to the bots ๐
When you see the drape comparisons in person with natural lighting and no makeup on, you can actually see how your skin, hair + eyes react to different colors ๐
So glad she didnโt overhaul her closet ๐
because now she gets to embrace the colors that truly make her shine!

Team color check-in with Barrow Orthodontics, PC today! ๐
After everyone had their colors done, we got together to talk about the real-life wins, challenges, shopping swaps, makeup + hair changesโฆ and the unhinged things you do once you know your colors ๐
A few takeaways shared from our conversation:
โค๏ธ Choosing navy over black for an event dress
๐งก Feeling more comfortable and confident investing in quality pieces, aka permission to spend a little more!
๐ Feeling validated in the colors already in their closets while also feeling inspired to expand into new ones
๐ Starting to return to a natural hair color
๐ฉต Swapping black mascara for brown
๐ Finally wearing blush after learning to choose warm vs. cool pinks
๐Returning a top that looked โmustardโ online but turned out to be bright yellow. Have a good return policy!
๐ค Springs struggling to shop this time of year. Lean into neutrals like tans, camels + creams and add your brighter colors through accessories. Your time to shine will come! โจ
๐ค And maybeโฆ a scrub color change in the future. Stay tuned!
And yesโฆ I matched the cupcakes I brought to my autumn outfit. Unhinged? Absolutely ๐๐
I love seeing how color analysis shows up in everyday life, and it was so fun hearing how this teamโs been embracing their seasons!

Metals make a difference โจ
Watch as I compare gold vs. silver during this color analysis session!
While both can be stunning, she truly shines in Springโs bright, warm yellow gold ๐
Your best metal can also go beyond gold vs. silver. Think brass, copper, ch*****ne, rose gold, and even matte vs. shiny finishes.
And itโs not just jewelry! Consider zippers, belt buckles, buttons, bag hardware, and more ๐

In honor of + my love for cold brew year-round ๐๐ง letโs talk about the color brown!
First, brown is anything but basic ๐ค
The right brown can look completely different depending on your coloring! So hereโs some inspo by season:
๐ AUTUMN: warm, earthy + rich
Think chestnut, chocolate, coffee, nutmeg, toffee, walnut + woodsy browns.
๐ท SPRING: light to medium, warm + golden
Think butterscotch, caramel, honey + sandy browns.
๐ SUMMER: cool, soft + muted
Think taupe, ash + rosy-leaning browns.
โ๏ธ WINTER: cool + deep
Think ebony, obsidian, mink + berry or gray-leaning browns.
And for those who lean more neutral, balanced browns that arenโt strongly golden or cool can make a beautiful middle ground ๐

The right shades can make it look like youโre wearing makeup when youโre not. But on the flip side, the wrong colors can emphasize things you may want to cover, leaving you reaching for more concealer or coverage than you actually need ๐
๐ปโโ๏ธ
Color analysis is about enhancing whatโs already there, not covering it up, and simplifying your beauty routine โค๏ธ
Iโll show you the shades that do the most with the least amount of product in your color analysis session.

Autumns, itโs your time to shine ๐ But if youโre not an Autumn, here are some styled looks to inspire your fall wardrobe in your own seasonal direction ๐
A little reminder that these are general color ideas! Your specific palette can look a little different depending on where you land within the 16-season system, especially if you lean more neutral.
๐ AUTUMN โ warm, rich + earthy
Think chocolate, rust, olive, moss, teal, brick, aubergine + mustard paired with antique gold, copper & brass ๐
โ๏ธ WINTER โ cool, deep + high contrast
Think black, charcoal, navy, emerald, burgundy, cobalt + royal purple paired with silver, white gold & platinum ๐ค
๐ท SPRING โ warm, bright + fresh
Think camel, cream, coral, poppy red, apple green, golden yellow + turquoise paired with ch*****ne, rose gold & yellow gold โจ
๐ SUMMER โ cool, smoky + muted
Think soft navy, taupe, dusty rose, berry, soft white + denim blue paired with brushed silver, pewter & matte white gold ๐ฉถ
