A pretty after photo shows you where the hair ended up but what did that stylist actually change? 👀

If someone comes in with beautiful blonde through their lengths and only gets their roots touched up, much of the brightness you’re seeing was already there. Maintaining that look takes skill, but posting the finished result as a full transformation doesn’t tell the whole story.

That’s why I want to see the before. Did they add brightness throughout the hair? Change the placement? Blend out harsh lines or correct uneven color? Or was this a simple refresh of an existing look? These details matter and is what separates skill sets in stylist. Did they create the look from start to finish and are the details truly balanced through the whole head not just what can be seen.

Seeing both helps you understand what was already there and what the stylist created. A photo alone can’t prove someone understands color theory and placement, but before and afters paired with an honest explanation tell you much more than an after photo by itself.
