Seven years.

For seven years, Alexander “BrewCity Flash” Lockett has shown up for Spokane with a camera in his hand and a heart for his community. He’s documented our milestones, celebrated our culture, amplified our nonprofits, mentored the next generation of photographers, and made sure Black joy, Black excellence, and Black history in Spokane are never forgotten.

He’s the photographer behind countless community events, family portraits, graduations, businesses, and moments we’ll cherish for a lifetime. But his impact goes far beyond the photos. He’s opened doors for aspiring creatives, shared his knowledge freely, and built connections that help others succeed.

Coming from Milwaukee and building a legacy here in Spokane, BrewCity Flash has become a legend in our community—not because he sought the spotlight, but because he’s spent years shining it on everyone else.

The truth is, many of our community’s most important memories exist because Alexander was there to capture them.

It’s time we show up for him the way he’s shown up for us.
