The past few months I’ve been expanding my growing space to a spot in Colbert! The elderberries, calendula, lavender, mint, comfrey, yarrow and more now have ALL the room to grow and offer supply to my little business.
In addition, I’ve partnered with reboot_initiative to expand production into culinary herbs and get more freshness to the community. Now you can get even more local herbs to use in your home cooked meals weekly at The Scale House Market. Come check it out this weekend!
Two of our favorite herbs worth highlighting this week are chervil & summer savory! Our curly chervil is a fern-like herb from the parsley family that is an excellent fresh addition to eggs, poultry, soups, salads and fish. It has a mild licorice/anise taste. Summer Savory is mild and peppery while being thyme-like. Use it fresh or dried to season beans, stuffing, soups and meat! Both will be available at the weekend markets and we hope to see you there!
