The gift cards have officially been purchased and delivered to VRL!
Thanks to a last minute monetary donation yesterday from one of our incredibly generous clients, I was able to purchase a total of 39 Yoke’s gift cards! Combined with the gift cards donated by our amazing customers, we were able to hand over a total of 51 gift cards to Kim at VRL to distribute directly to families affected by the fire.
A huge shout-out to Diana (pictured) and Kelly at Yoke’s on Sprague & McDonald for being so patient and amazing while processing all 39 gift cards. They didn’t have enough on hand, so Kelly drove to headquarters to get more, and Diana manually processed every single card. They were both so kind and helpful throughout the entire process!
And a special thank you to Kim at VRL for helping us get these gift cards into the hands of families who need them most.
Most of all, THANK YOU to our incredible customers! Your generosity made all of this possible. We couldn’t have done it without you.

We want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredibly generous customers, near and far, and to our amazing employees who donated gift cards and money to help those impacted by the Spokane Complex fires. Your generosity has truly touched us.
When we first started this donation drive, we changed our approach from collecting monetary donations to gift cards because we felt people may be more inclined to participate that way. Throughout this past week, we’ve continued researching and thinking about what would be the most helpful way to get these donations directly into the hands of those who need them. To wrap up this drive, please allow us to make one final change.
We will donate all of the gift cards we have collected, and we will use the monetary donations we received to purchase additional gift cards. I will be purchasing Yoke’s gift cards with the monetary donations that we've received. I also contacted VRL on Barker, and they are accepting gift cards to distribute to those in need. I will purchase and deliver the gift cards by Tuesday.
As for the $5,000 we pledged to match, we will be making a monetary donation to H.O.M.E. 100% of the donated funds will be direct support to families affected by the recent fires, with no administrative fees.
Right now, many families are still trying to process everything and may not even know what they will need in the coming days or weeks. We feel that supporting an organization working directly with these families will allow the funds to help where they are needed most.Thank you, Spokane, for showing us what happens when a community rallies together.
When we come together, we can make a difference. We are so grateful to be a small part of this incredible community. 🙏❤️
Transparency is key. With the help of our last client of the day, Leah helped us count the total in our donation bin (see video on the first post). TOTAL came out to $1656! I will round it up to $1700 so that we can buy 34 $50 Yoke’s Gift Cards!
