ITS SPOOKY SEASON 🎃

Life recently but also transparency post.
I LOVE this career. I love my clients. The connections with all these beautiful people fills my cup more than you know. Im am beyond grateful to live this life and to make people feel good about themselves in the process. Hair is my medium and I get to make a living off of my art. That’s so freaking cool!!!! I want this feeling forever! Now bc I want this forever and ever I have to start pacing myself. I’ve been going hard for 11 years. Coming in early, staying late, coming in on off days, “squeezing in” appointments. I want to please and accommodate everyone and fit it in their time.. It is very physically demanding. Its not just playing in hair all day Doing this for the long haul is no joke. Teachers told us in school it would take a toll on your body and I’ve been truckin’ along up til now. This isn’t just speaking for me, my fellow hairstylists, also struggle with mental and physical exhaustion. I put myself in urgent care and now physical therapy from pushing myself too hard with these long hours and not doing enough to take care of myself. So this is me asking for grace and understanding, messages can sometimes be slow, you may have to wait a month or two to get in, if the appointment’s scheduled wrong, I may not be able to make the time slot work and it will have to be rescheduled within regular working hours. Potentially in a month. I understand the frustrations with these things but I also am trying to establish healthy boundaries to have some kind of work/life balance and heal myself. My body has let me know I need to slow down and take care of it. I’m sorry if this post is a little more intense than what I normally show but we are human. I’m not just a hairstylist, I’m a business owner, homeowner, social media marketer, someone who battled with substance abuse, dog mom, daughter, friend, etc. I am so many things! Sometimes I struggle to remember I’m more than just my job. There should be no guilt for taking care of ourselves.
