One of the most common questions I get is, “What is the treatment actually like?” So I wanted to share a little more about what you can expect during your Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Detox Massage.

Let’s start with the question I hear most often: Will it hurt?

Many clients ask this because they’ve experienced lymphatic treatments in the past that felt uncomfortable. This particular method should not be painful. While you may feel areas of congestion, puffiness, or fluid retention being addressed, the treatment is designed to be both effective and comfortable. We will stay in constant communication throughout your session, and pressure can always be adjusted up or down based on your comfort level.

Another common question is, “How am I draped?”

You will be comfortably draped throughout the session, with only the area being worked on exposed at any given time. Your comfort, privacy, and relaxation are always a priority.

The treatment combines specialized Brazilian lymphatic drainage techniques, gentle vacuum-assisted therapy, facial lymphatic drainage, facial cupping, and therapeutic body cupping when appropriate. The vacuum-assisted portion feels like a gentle gliding motion with light suction across the skin. Facial cupping uses continuous fluid movements and will not leave marks on the skin. If body cupping is used on the back, the cups remain stationary and may leave temporary marks that typically fade within a few days.

Most clients describe the treatment as deeply relaxing. Many notice a feeling of lightness, less puffiness, improved comfort in their clothing, and a greater sense of overall well-being immediately afterward. Others notice the most significant changes over the following 24–72 hours as the body continues to process and move excess fluid.

It is also completely normal to notice increased urination after your treatment. This is one of the ways your body eliminates the fluid that has been encouraged to move through the lymphatic system. Staying well hydrated with water and electrolytes can help support this process and help you feel your best afterward.

This treatment may be especially beneficial if you experience:

• Bloating or fluid retention
• Puffiness in the face or body
• Brain fog or sluggishness
• Swelling after travel or long periods of sitting
• Stress and tension held in the body
• A desire to support healthy circulation and lymphatic function

After your session, I recommend drinking plenty of water, replenishing electrolytes, and taking a gentle walk to support continued lymphatic movement.
