At Lovely Day Myofascial Release we specialize in John Barnes Myofascial Release.

Myofascial Release is hands on bodywork that treats the root cause of your pain, not the symptoms, resulting in pain relief that lasts.

“I tried Myofascial release before and it didn't help.”

When a client tells me this, I've learned to ask one more question:

What did that treatment actually look like?

Because “myofascial release” (MFR) can describe very different things—from foam rolling and localized trigger-point techniques to the slow, sustained, whole-body approach we practice at Lovely Day.

I recently came across a research study that illustrated this distinction beautifully and got me thinking about something I see all the time:

Sometimes you've tried something called MFR without necessarily experiencing the kind of MFR we do here.

And if you're still dealing with the same pain or restriction, I don't want you assuming you've exhausted your options.

You still have options.

I wrote a new blog about why not all MFR looks the same—and why sometimes the place that hurts isn't the whole story.

If there were one magical stretch everybody could do to keep their body moving well, I’d be out of a job.

Or, at the very least, I’d be giving all of you a copy and calling it a day. 😂

The newest Lovely Day Letter started with a conversation about yoga and got me thinking about the ways our bodies adapt to how we use them—and why variety matters.

Variety Is the Spice of Life is now on the blog.

The next Lovely Day Letter is headed to inboxes Tuesday. 🌿

This one started with a conversation about yoga—and turned into some thoughts about self-treatment, repetition, and how fascia adapts to our movements.

Today we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families whose lives were forever changed, and the first responders and everyday people who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember. 🇺🇸

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Lovely Day! 💛

Today we're celebrating the people who keep things moving, care for others, build things, solve problems, show up, and do the work day after day.

Whatever your work looks like, we hope today gives you a little time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the people and things you love.

And if your body is reminding you just how hard you've been working lately... we know a place. 😉

Wishing you a Lovely Day! 09/07/2026

I supported a client through a pretty big unwinding recently — and in the reflection afterward, I found myself looking at something in a whole new way.

The new Lovely Day Letter is my attempt to put that into words.

It starts with an unwinding. But where it goes has more to do with the surprising ways our bodies hold onto a lifetime of learning how to behave. How to hold ourselves together. How to take up just the right amount of space.

Until suddenly, being asked to rest, receive, or let go doesn't feel quite as simple as it sounds.

It's in inboxes now. On the blog Friday if you missed it. Link in bio to sign up. 🌿

Meet Caroline. 💛

Some practitioners add reflexology to what they do.

Caroline built her entire career around it.

Her work is thoughtful, intuitive, and deeply relaxing—but don't mistake gentle for simple.

Reflexology is a sophisticated modality that can influence the body in remarkable ways, and Caroline has devoted years to mastering it.

If your nervous system never seems to switch off, you carry constant tension, or you're simply curious about what reflexology can do,

I can't recommend her highly enough. I've experienced her work myself, and it's unlike anything I've received before.

✨ 60-minute Reflexology ✨ 90-minute Reflexology + Massage Blend

Learn more about Caroline through this week's email spotlight, or contact her directly at (845)807-1069 to book an appointment. 💛

The first Lovely Day Letter is here. 💛

Earlier this week, I sent out the very first Lovely Day Letter to everyone on my email list.

If you weren't on the list yet, don't worry.

I've shared it on the blog so you can still read it.

This first letter, It Takes a Village, is about something I've come to believe more deeply with every passing year:

Healing isn't something that happens in isolation.

It grows through curiosity.

Through collaboration.

Through people who are willing to keep learning from one another—and from the people they serve.

If that sounds like the kind of conversation you'd enjoy, I'd love to have you join me.

Future Lovely Day Letters will arrive in your inbox before they're published on the blog.

Practitioner Spotlight ✨ | Pino

If you've been trying to get in but can't make daytime hours work, Pino might be exactly who you've been waiting for.

Pino runs Agripino Bezares out of Lovely Day, and what he does is genuinely hard to describe. His specialty is Lomi Lomi — an ancient Hawaiian healing practice that feels less like a massage and more like a ritual. Continuous movement, unbroken contact, completely present from start to finish.

He's not interested in chasing your pain. He wants to find the source of it.

He also offers deep tissue, therapeutic massage, cupping and bamboo — with a particular gift for neck and shoulder work.

Evenings. Weekends. Monday daytimes.

Staff Spotlight ✨ | Sandra

Twenty years of therapeutic magic, and she still brings something new to every session.

Sandra has been a part of Lovely Day for about a year now and a dear friend of mine for much longer.

She came to this space with two decades of massage therapy experience and a background as a Physical Therapist Assistant, which means she brings both clinical precision and genuine intuition to her work. She's also trained in John Barnes Myofascial Release, so she understands the body the way we do here — as a whole system, not a collection of symptoms.

What she's offering right now is something special. Her Sandra Special is a 90-minute session that blends therapeutic massage and MFR, guided entirely by what your body needs in that moment. No rigid protocol. Just skilled, attentive hands and twenty years of knowing how to listen.

It's available through end of summer at $150.

If you've been curious about what MFR-informed massage feels like without jumping straight into a clinical session, this is your door in.
