described by The Lash Ritual | Professional Color Lash Extensions as a “vibrant grape purple”, I chose Royal for Erika to enhance the greenish blue hue of her eyes. I’ve previously done Dahlia lashes on her, and knew warm tones made her natural features shine.

I asked her, “when you think of color mascara, what color would you go for?” Purple. The darker purple shades I have are: Midnight, Nocturnal, Nightshade, Royal, and Spellbound.

Automatically Midnight and Nocturnal were out. They’re gorgeous, but too subtle for a Color Mascara look.

I wanted to stay in the range of warm tones, so I opted for Royal, a literal Royal Purple. Nightshade is cool toned, and Spellbound is a Vivid Purple.

So… Royal Color Mascara Set is born. ⭐️

6 years as a Lash Artist… here’s some of the things I’ve learned 🐅

It’s bittersweet coming up on 6 years of lash artistry. Sometimes I feel like I’m behind, and other times I look back and realize just how much I’ve accomplished considering everything life has thrown my way.

This anniversary isn’t just about lashes, it’s about finding myself. Becoming a color lash artist & combining my love for art with lash artistry has been the most rewarding part of my career.

Over the last 6 years, I’ve experienced a lot of change and loss. I lost my dad and my soulmate dog, Roux. I lost my job, twice. I had to unexpectedly transition from working at home into a salon suite, and I walked away from a relationship that ultimately pushed me to grow in ways I never expected.

For a long time, those experiences made me feel like I was falling behind. But looking back, I realize I wasn’t behind… I was rebuilding.

If these last 6 years have taught me anything, it’s to give yourself grace. Comparison is the thief of joy. Celebrate your progress, lean on your community, and keep creating.

Here’s to six years of lashes, color, creativity, and becoming the artist I was always meant to be. 🦋🌈
