“I want tighter skin” sounds like a goal—but there can be several different things happening underneath it.

Is the concern loss of collagen? Crepey texture? Mild skin laxity? Volume loss making the skin look looser? Significant excess skin?

Those problems aren’t interchangeable, and neither are the treatments used to address them. Think you know Botox? A few things may surprise you:
• The goal doesn’t have to be a frozen face. Good treatment can soften movement while still letting you look like YOU.
• More isn’t automatically better. Placement and dosing matter.
• Botox treats wrinkles caused by muscle movement—it doesn’t fix every line on the face.
• Results aren’t instant. They develop gradually after treatment.
• “Preventative Botox” doesn’t mean everyone needs to start in their 20s. The best treatment plan is based on your anatomy, your muscle movement and the result you actually want—not a one-size-fits-all number of units.

Not every skin concern lives in the same place—so not every treatment can reach it.

Topical skincare works primarily at or near the skin’s surface and can be excellent for things like hydration, cell turnover, acne prevention and pigment management.

Chemical peels and resurfacing treatments work at varying depths to improve tone and texture.

Microneedling and energy-based treatments can trigger changes deeper in the skin. Injectables work in entirely different ways—relaxing muscles, restoring volume or stimulating collagen depending on the product.

That’s why two people who both say “I want better skin” may need completely different plans. The right treatment starts with identifying WHAT you want to change—and where that problem is actually happening.
