Yes it is! The truth is everyone's hair grows but at different rates- especially as we [gracefully] age- and often times the problems lies in retaining that length/growth.
Your healthiest hair comes with a focus on maintaining a weekly wash routine with quality shampoo/conditioner, trims every 8-12 weeks, low tension styling and eliminating harsh chemicals like permanent hair color, relaxer, and lightener.

It wasn’t until I became a hairstylist that I stopped using the word “nappy.” And once I saw it differently, I couldn’t unsee it.
Working behind the chair, listening to women’s stories, and really learning curls and coils, I started to not only see but appreciate the beauty that’s always been there. The care. The time. The patience. The pride. And, that word "nappy"? It's a slap in the face to all of that!
It sounds more like a dismissal of something so special. Undermining all of the women who pour into their hair...of the ones who’ve learned to love it, even after years of frustration...of the ones who just haven’t been taught what to do yet.
That's why, in my space, we don’t use it. Because my clients, their efforts, and their hair deserve better than that.

So, how'd we get here?
Well, when I started servicing my client, she was interested in taking a break from heat styling and was curious about how her curls would perform. After a few months of successfully wearing washngos, perm rod sets, and even twistouts, she became more comfortable and noticed a change in her density and curl pattern. Her hair had become thicker and her curls were stronger. She was initially wanted to let her pixie grow out, but after seeing a photo of a super cute tapered style, she was inspired to ✂️✂️
I promise it's not me yall, but the honeys are coming in for tapered cuts- short sides with a little sass on top!
