Tala Wellness Studio
Skin care enthusiast! Healer. Lover of all botanicals and honey.
My heart is full after our last gathering! I want to thank every single person who stopped by, celebrated with us, shopped, asked questions, and spent part of their Sunday at Tala. If you have taken pictures please send them to me. Lots of people are missing in this video.
To my existing clients—thank you for your continued loyalty, encouragement, referrals, and incredible support. You have helped Tala grow into what it is today, and I never take your trust for granted. Every appointment booked, product purchased, review shared, and friend sent our way helps support this small business more than you may realize.
It was also wonderful meeting so many new faces! To those who entrusted us with your skin and wellness goals by booking services and treatment series—thank you. Kristal and I are honored and excited to care for you.
A very special thank-you to Lauren for choosing Tala to help launch her new food truck business, Busha’s Biscuits. We were delighted to be part of her beginning, and I have no doubt Busha’s Biscuits will do wonderfully!
And finally, thank you to our youngest—and possibly cutest—helper, Noelle. She brought such sweet energy to the day and took her responsibilities very seriously. 💛
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Our Open House was special because of all of you.
Advanced care. Restored you.

SUNDAY MUSINGS — “KNOW YOUR WORTH”
“Know your worth” has become one of those phrases we repeat so often that it risks meaning almost nothing.
Usually, it is offered as encouragement: demand more, tolerate less, walk away, choose yourself. Sometimes that is necessary. But if our worth depends on being admired, chosen, respected, successful, or properly appreciated by others, then it remains frighteningly fragile.
Our worth is not a price someone else gets to negotiate.
It does not increase when we are praised or decrease when we are overlooked. It is not earned through beauty, productivity, status, sacrifice, or usefulness. And it does not disappear when we fail.
From a Christian perspective, we do not invent our worth. We receive it.
We are made in the image and likeness of God. Christ did not wait until humanity was impressive, healed, or deserving before He went to the Cross. That is the truest measure of human worth—not our résumé, our reflection, our applause, or even our opinion of ourselves.
But knowing our worth is not permission to become proud, demanding, or unwilling to examine our own faults. Humility is not thinking less of ourselves, and it is certainly not thinking more of ourselves. It is seeing ourselves truthfully: deeply loved, imperfect, accountable, and still in need of grace.
So perhaps the better reminder is not merely, “Know your worth.”
Know where your worth comes from.
Then you will not need the world to constantly confirm it—and you will be less tempted to deny that same worth in someone else. You are valuable not because everyone recognizes it, but because you were created in the image of God and are loved by Him.
Happy Sunday y'all!
☁️ Cloudy-day PSA: The sun may be hiding, but those UV rays are still working! Your SPF doesn’t get the day off just because the clouds showed up. 😉☀️🧴 Blessed Sunday y'all!

Sunday Musings: When Every Hurt Becomes Trauma
The word trauma comes from the Greek word for wound. In its deeper psychological meaning, it describes an experience so overwhelming that it can leave a lasting wound on the mind, body, and spirit.
But today, the word is often used for almost everything—an uncomfortable conversation, disappointment, criticism, embarrassment, or simply not getting what we wanted.
Not every painful experience is trauma.
Some things are grief.
Some are rejection.
Some are disappointment.
Some are consequences.
Some are ordinary hardships that require courage, maturity, forgiveness, or change.
When we call every difficult experience “trauma,” we do not make ourselves more compassionate. We risk watering down a word that many people need to describe profound suffering—abuse, violence, devastating loss, war, neglect, or experiences that leave the nervous system struggling to feel safe long after the danger has passed.
This does not mean ordinary pain is insignificant. Pain does not have to qualify as trauma to deserve tenderness. But naming things truthfully matters. If every wound receives the same name, we may forget that different wounds require different kinds of healing.
Some wounds need professional help.
Some need time and patience.
Some need boundaries.
Some need forgiveness.
Some need accountability.
And some require us to accept that discomfort is not always damage.
Perhaps part of becoming emotionally mature is learning to say, “That hurt me,” without always saying, “That traumatized me.” It is recognizing that we can be deeply affected without being permanently defined—and wounded without being destroyed.
Our words should help us understand suffering, not enlarge every discomfort until it becomes our identity.
Christ never dismissed suffering. But neither did He teach us to build our identity around our wounds. He invited the wounded to come forward, to be seen, and ultimately, to be healed-restored.
May we treat true trauma with the seriousness and compassion it deserves—and meet the ordinary pains of life with faith, wisdom, resilience, and grace.
